CML is just better value for points than an assault cannon.
The dread would probably be better with a plasma cannon, the range and the antimeq would fit in well with your gunline.

I know the
CML is a better point sink then the assault cannon, But I at least wanted to put two assault cannon's in. Should I just drop it from the command squad and instead give them a
CML - then what would I do with the other 10 points? Add 2 more chainfists to the other squad with storm bolters?
The dread I will switch to have a plasma cannon - plus it also fits the whole Venerable vibe of the dreadnought in the first place!
Ill drop the heavy bolter from the landspeeder and replace it with a multimelta - but I somewhat like the stormbolters mingled about the squads - it gives me some stopping power and it allows for chianfists to take down vehicles if need be.
I can add maybe the anti-flier turret from the rulebook but I can't for the life of me remember how much the damn thing costs. Hell if it costs 10 points I will gladly fit that in and forget about the chainfists. I hate how
GW made fliers so damn hard to kill with
AA (which is a testament to shooting down aircrafts in real life

to real life), but also made them spammable...

~This guy is somewhat the hold the line, hold troops down kinda unit. The assault cannon is great for taking out lighter vehicles and the flamer is great for closing and then tying up units. Venerable just gives it that extra awesome.

~Belials unit. Somewhat the heavy hitter and long lasting. Will hopefully kill those pesky units (or those units that are weaker and can be killed quickly). I know the change to 5+ feel no pain was a heavy nerf, but I still like the idea behind it (fluff wise and it is still pretty powerful). Chainfist and assault cannon also for pesky vehicles (or mowing down some enemies)
