This list is pretty much a modified version of Maximum Threat Overload that I had a really good success rate with back in 5th. I haven't had a chance to play a 6th ed game yet but from what I've been reading I took out the Spyders and Scarabs I used to have since it didn't seem like scarabs were that survivable anymore with cover being reduced and beast not having stealth anymore either. So I added another Wraith squad (which pretty much makes this a wraithwing list I guess), and a D. Lord to run with one of the wraith squads since he boosts it's effectiveness so much.

I am hoping to run this list at NOVA so any comments or criticisms would be appreciated. Thanks.

Lost in the Warp....

I would like to say get some annihilation barges, and maybe some night scythes, so drop the doom scythes, and pick up some night scythes and some annihilation barges, would probably give you some more mobility.

Yeah. it seems that way. I'm sure 2 FOC can get pretty busted, they might just be trying to avoid the hassle this early on in the edition.

yea i like your list the wraiths are strong but i feel like its to many wraiths... they are to expensive of a unit... just like space marines and termies you can' t have a competitive list and take more than 5 termies...

I would put overlord in a C. barge the new chariot rules are sick!

i wouldn't take anything 200 points apart from the wraiths. i def. take more nights sights and A barge... they cheap and kill a lot!

just had my first 2k tourney yesterday I brought

Overlord with war scythe 2+ armor and mind shackle's s.
in a C barge
Destructor lord with war scythe 2+ armor and mind shackles s.
with 6 wraiths armed with lash wipes (that unit is my bullet magnet) they always make it in CC wraiths up front with invuln. soaking up the wounds. when they get in CC if they don't destroy units quick they at least tie up tones of crap for a long time nothing can kill armor 2+ on the lord and things that can will go after you or get mind shackled...

troop wise i take 4 x 5 immortals out of the 4 squad 2 get Royal court lords and become assault immortals. Out of the 4 troops i always take 3 x the Gauss blaster and 1 x Tesla carbines. the lords are just like the other lords plus a resurrection orb.
all this i pack in Night scythes

then i filed as much cheap crap on the table as possible because i got to wait a full round for the flyers to come on the table so you want to give the impression that there is already a lot on the table... and you want to survive the first round.

so i take 3 A. barge (very resilient good shooting) super cheap... 90 points can't beat that...
and then either one more lord or usually one of the walkers things with the melta...

played 3 games yesterday each time round one i was holding my own with what i had on the table... wraiths where at the front soaking all the fire power and getting in CC with easy prays, chariot was outflanking and taking out side stragglers on the side or heavy vehicles while staying away from heavy fire... while A. Barges where slowly getting in position or already firing and supporting the CC units.

i did tones of damage every time and every first turn it look like i was going to loose... but every time on turn 2 (i take command trait and hope for a 4 every time, got it twice yesterday) flyer s came in wreak havoc with Tesla destrucors with the added fire of the troops that drop from the flyers in the enemy face was just nasty ... i moped up 3 games and won the tourney.

some people will say that the night scythes are hard to control and it is true that by turn 4 you usually don't have anywhere good to go... but the amount of destruction you get in turn 3 and 4 makes it a non point since usually its already in the pocket... by turn 4 i usually send back in reserves or try to position for some firing in turn 6 if it happens... it will take 2 turns easily to get them back on track so they can shoot something... the worst that got done to my flyer s yesterday was 1 pen and a weapon destroyed result... every time i went for the enemy anti air first and trust me until new codex's pop out they don't have much out there that can do anything to the flyer s...


Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly...
