Ok - so I took the left-overs and some "imagination" and decided to see what I could come up with.

I parted out my Aegis Sets of Quad Cannons for Dreads, so I have plenty of defense lines but no real gun.

Therefore, being the Ork Mek that I am - I have created the Grot Airforce:







The plan is to set some grots behind the walls and have this bad boy pointed towards any fliers that enter play. I've still got to put the TL Guns and the Grot into the model, but I think you get the idea.

Yeah, I like the idea of baby jets, but practically speaking, probably best for them to be counts-as Koptas, and armed accordingly.

Hmm.... Didn't think about changing it out for Deff Koptas.

The plan right now is to have gretchen manning the defense line and make a small landing strip behind it with the Grit Airforce counting as the AA guns.

I've got enough material to make 2 more though....

If you're just wanting an AA gun battery for the Aegis defence line, collect all the spare small missiles and rockets you can find and build a ridiculously over-the-top grot AA missile launcher (perhaps on wheels or tracks?) which counts as a quad autocannon.

And yeah, sounds like you have the makings of a nice little Kopta unit.

From a Mek to another: it look bland, take some plasticard and add "plates" to the fuselage. Cover that clean, shine underside of it with bitz and textures, to make it look more like "wreckage put to work", it will look a LOT better...

Meanwhyle do you mind to give me the specific lenght of the big dakkajet in the background? I mean, how much inches from nose to tail, and from the tip of a wing to another? I want to scratch build one for me, and was wondering about its size...
