Hey guys

I'm looking to build some warrior acolytes and equip them with bolters. Right now, my big issue is that I'm not sure which human size models support putting bolters on them. As far as I understand, the models that would fit the size of acolytes AND be 100% adaptable to changing weapons would be plastic SM scouts and metal Guard Storm Troopers.

Anyone have tips on more models that can easily have their weapons replaced with bolters?

The guardsmen command sprue actually comes with a bolter for the guardsmen and if you do it right they fit ok on plastic cadians.

I am also interested in this question,

I am looking at the second picture with the command sprue for cadian on here but I cannot find the bolter, can you help me with some directions please?

It only looks like it comes with one :(

This looks like our best bet really:

I'm wondering if some crossover with guard pieces might make good acolytes.

Scout marines could work, they're not as bulky as power armor.

Can you actually put bolters on them? find the issue with most of the guard models is that their weapons aren't detached from their arms, which makes putting the bolter on difficult.

I wouldn't recommend Kasrkin. They models are one piece metals IIRC, aside from the backpacks. Taking off the HS las and adding a bolter would be difficult.

I have the same issue. I've been using Kasrkin with the hellrifle counts as, but this will only go so far.

I like the SM scout idea.

Just use the arms from Scout Marines, or take bolters from a Marine sprue (bits sites often sell 5-10 bolters for like a dollar) and put them on IG lasgun arms. Acolytes have flak armor by default, so unless you're armoring them up to carapace armor you're good with putting bolters in Cadian hands.

I have lots of of SM bolter bits. I'll give this a go.
