Executioner Ezandrak's and his Destroyer Cult's total disregard to following orders and their single minded goal of destroying all life was becoming a bit of a nuisance to the war effort. So it was decreed that him and his cult was to be terminated with extreme prejudiced. The Death Squads were sent in.

Hello Everyone,

General Chaos here with another video battle report. This is battle between CVinton's Colombian Death Squad Assassins verses my Destroyer Cult of the Red Harvest. We played at 1850 (well 1851) point level. The mission was Purge the Alien (Kill Points) and the deployment was Dawn of War (Pitched Battle). I got seriously rofl-stomped due to some deployment mistakes, not understanding the Catacomb Command Barges survivability and Chris's ability to capitalize on all that. Our list were

CVinton - Am only one point over Necrons

That Destroyer Lord really wants a squad that moves as fast as he does. I doubt I'd take one without wraiths or praetorians. I know you've got a fluffy army but I'm not sure vanilla destroyers are worth their points.

I haven't really seen the stalker do much yet. While giving everything twin-linked that shoots at one target is a nifty ability, the good shooty units already have twin-linked. The stalker kind of forces you build lists sub-optimally to take advantage of it. Only Destroyers and Troops benefit from it. You don't want your troops to take up too many points (4x10 warriors is really too much especially if they're all footslogging it). And as I said before I'm not in love with destroyers (They heavies have a nice gimmick in with the 36" range but they cost way too much).

It is nice to see a report with two CCBs. As expected they're very durable. I'd probably drop a couple of Immortals just to give the Overlords MSS (which would've put the list under 1850). While not very important in this battle, MSS is very necessary in a TAC style list.

Too bad you only had the one chance to let the Deathmarks shine. I expect every time they come in they'll cripple their marked target.

ABs are the secret to Necron success in my humble opinion. They're almost mobile quad guns and dirt cheap.

Thanks for the report. Maybe next time we can see the destroyer list against marines. I'd like to see how well the mass ap 3 handles power armor.
