Read how command squads work again, they can't be used to form a part of the blob squad, they always remain seperate... the answer is no, no feel no pain blob for you.

Unless you ally with sisters, and stick mr. Jacobus in there. Just need to be weary of challenges.

Actually you can accept a challenge with any character so one of your power weapon sarges can accept the challenge instead of Jacobus.

Jacobus in a blob is actually pretty good fnp, +1 attack and stubborn.

Even if he refuses the challenge that just means they can't use his leadership and he can't attack but they can still use his Stubborn and FNP.

I'm sure you could do something like this with the DKoK Quartermaster, I'm not 100% sure how they work though.

Read the Challenge rule again. It's not against a particular enemy character, it's against any character. Any character may accept it so there's no reason for J to refuse, he just needs a Sgt. to accept it.

I'm aware of that, what I'm saying is that there's no reason for anyone to accept the challenge. J can safely hang out towards the back of the unit, and he'll probably get nominated for the refusal penalty because of his higher leadership. Stubborn Ld8 is just fine, especially if you've got a standard nearby and there's no reason to sacrifice the power axe sergeants you should probably have in this sort of blob.

Treat yourself to a lord commissar if you are worried about not having J's leadership.

Of course you can't put the Lord Commissar IN Jacobus' blob, otherwise you might roll poorly and have to shoot Jacobus in the face. So you'd have to place the Lord Commissar in a Veteran Squad or a different blob, and make sure that both Blobs remain within the Aura of Discipline.

Of course if you really wanted to splurge you could just slap old man Yarrick in there... but hes a bit too expensive for what he brings to the table.

And as has been pointed out, a Regimental Standard combined with Stubborn Leadership 8 may very easily be enough. The danger here is that Company Command Squads are pretty easy to focus fire if they are in the open, being small frail squads filled with valuable heavy / special weapons and advisers,

All I am reading is a need for a goat chapter of Battle Sisters to make itself known. Time to bust out your green stuff!
