I was thinking of making a DOA BA list with some eldar allies. Here's what i thought to take into my army:

BA list:
HQ: Dante
Troops: SG, 3 infernus pistol, 1 PF
Troops: SG. 3 plasma pistol, 2 infernus pistol, 1 PF
Troops: 6 Death Company, 2 power weapons, 1 plasma pistol, Jump packs, (rest bolt pistols and CCWs)
Troops: 10 Assault Squad: jump packs, 2x plasma pistol
Elite: Furioso dreadnought in drop pod with blood talons
Elite: sanguinary priest, jump pack, handflamer, melta bombs

Eldar allies:
HQ: Avatar
Troops: 5 pathfinders
Troops: 5 pathfinders

The idea is to deploy the pathfinders and avatar onto the table, and also the 10man assault squad. The rest come from reserves as DS. Pathfinders are deployed into cover so they are hard to kill in the first turns of the game. Avatar will back them up if some melee unit tries to come after them. The dread will drop on some flank of the enemy army and puff either smoke, or move 6" from the pod and shoot his melta. On turn 2 dante and the priest come with SG squads and blow stuff up and also the DC will drop somewhere in a bit of cover and try to get to combat on turn 3. Well that's the plan anyway.

Total: 1850pts.

I would really appreciate some opinions about the list. What you guys think is good or bad about it. Cheers in advance!

My experience with DP Furiosos was never good. They come down, and as a righteous threat, get blown to bits. Never used them in 6th ed, but I assume they'd be even easier to kill now.

As if DoA wasn't hard enough to play, playing it with this little of scoring units is dangerous. Your pathfinders, unfortunately, are NOT scoring units because they are not Battle Brothers on the ally matrix.

I don't really see the reason for the Eldar detachment. Is it contributing anything other than cheap place holders so you can reserve the other half of your army? I know Pathfinders are pretty awesome with their rending rifles, especially with the new rules for snipers, but it seems those points could be put to better use. More troops? Fire support?

They are not desperate allies so the pathfinders can be scoring units. BRB pg.112.

My apologies. I was misinformed. Good luck with your list.

You would be much better suited to using a farseer over the avatar. Psychic defense and the ability to get twin linked sniper shots is pretty nice. I don't see what the avatar is contributing other than being a fire magnet.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Why take a furioso over a DC dread? Assuming your use for it is anti infantry the DC dread would better suit this roll especially with the buff to rage.

I would take the DC Dread, if you are going foot moble hunting throw the Blood Tallons on and if you are smashing armor put the Magma Grapple or just take both and go nuts

Do you ever go into a fight thinking "there's no point giving it my best, I'll get another chance later?"

We only ever get one shot marlin. Life is one shot
