Hey all,
does anybody know anything or any sources that detail any of the campaigns listed on this Heresy Era World Eater banner? Specifically Badlanding. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm trying to fluff out the backstory on my Pre-Heresy World Eaters project.

All I can find about Badlanding at the moment only involves the Crimson Fists and Orks, specifically the battle of Krugerport,
Will keep digging for you and see what I can find.

Thanks! the information regarding compliance actions by the world eaters is pretty sparse unfortunately.

The only Pre-Heresy campaigns I can find for the World Eaters/War Hounds are:
Nove Shendak: The War Hounds fought along side the Iron Warriors against a seintiant worm-like race.
The Cleansing of Arrigata: The World Eaters fight along side the Luna Wolves and the Ultramarines against human rebels.

in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun |

Yeah those were the only ones I could find as well, I really wish they would have fleshed out the World Eaters more in the Horus Heresy novels like they did the other legions.

I say just go nuts and create your own fluff for those battles, I did it for both my Iron Warriors and my Blood Angels

From the IA: World Eaters
Following the infamous Ghenna Scouring, where an entire planet's population were butchered in a single night of bloodshed, the World Eaters were censured by the Emperor and commanded to cease the use of implants.
You say it's a Heresy Era banner hmm?
You could say that a contingent of Imperial Fists battled the World Eaters here? Rynns World is the Crimson Fists homeworld, which is a weeks warp jump away, so could be tied in somehow. Maybe why the Crimson Fists made it their homeworld?

Yes there is practically nothing. I did a backstory as part of my project/blog of the 591st expedition, completely made up on my part although it may be some use to you!
It's under the 'narrative' section on the buttons on the right: http://eatersofworlds.blogspot.co.uk/
Edit: There is also another bit of background that was written by Graham McNeil for a Pre-Heresy event I attended years ago, although it doesn't focus on the World Eaters specifically.

Well I'm not sure if it's Heresy Era, most likely it's Crusade Era, seeing as during and after the Heresy the World Eaters seem to be much less concerned with battle honors and compliance actions, and more about who has the most skulls. My thinking was that with a name like Badlanding it could possibly be a World Eaters version of the planet Murder that the Blood Angels and Emperors Children saw action on. In keeping with the fact that the info says Badlanding was rediscovered in the 34th Millennium, I was figuring it could have been an incredibly brutal battle fought by the World Eaters against a highly violent and unreasoning species of Xenos, of which the World Eaters only option was to scour the planet. After which they simply moved on and the world was forgotten until it was rediscovered in the 34th Millennium.

Yes I think so too.. the skull collecting would only have started after the Legion had begun to turn to Khorne, after the discovery of Angron (which we know was towards the end of the Crusade).
As the Heresy book series has moved on, and it now focusing on decidedly heresy-era events (the attack on Calth, raising of Prospero etc.) sadly that means I doubt we will get much more meat on the actual events of the Crusade themselves. At least officially in any case. While you might see that as a bad thing, at least that means there is the opportunity there for you to make a piece of background of your own, and a very small chance of it being retconned later on!

True enough, I just wanted to be sure there was no existing fluff regarding this action. Now I can create my own and flesh out my World Eaters backstory.
