Ok so I have 2500pts of IG and 2500pts of Paint blobbed BA (my brother is abandoning BA for Necrons) and 500pts of Orks .

SO now I am stuck with 5 options at varying $ amounts.

First is repaint his BA. He has the basic set from AoBR plus 10 death company - 5 assault squad - 5 devastator squad - 1 drop pod - 1 unopened predator - 1 unopened rhino - and one Sanguinary guard that I must say are painted better than TTC and I was amazed at how well he did painting them. I think I would be good with that and just see if I can get a Stromraven for under 80$ down the line. (also What do you think of this BA army? IDK too much about them.)

Second is go for Orks. My cousin has the ork Battle set unpainted that I could use. That plus another set of Bikes, 2 10 man squads of Lootas, Some nobs with Powa Claws, a Better HQ, and a Battle Wagon and I'm ready to go.

Expand my IG into a massive army. Like 4k pts massive. Get over 250 guardsmen ( I have 70 atm). This would be from rigorous use of E-bay possibly craigslist and start grabbing everything; Basilisks - Hydras - Manticores - every fluff / supplemental Character. But I feel that would be more just Painting and modeling and I would hardly play with them.

Brand new Chaos army. Besides IG Chaos seems the most fun to me. I really like their fluff and Demon allies are a plus. I can grab one of each battle set and work out from there. Also I hear down the line a new Starter set is coming out that will have Dark Angels and Chaos. I may wait and find someone who is interested in splitting that set.

Eldar. I honestly only want them because of how they looks. Wraithlords are like the flying V guitar for me. I always wanted one just to have it. I may just buy a Wraithlord just to paint and model it and get it out of my ssytem. Personally not a fan of eldar fluff. They just meh.


So I ask the Dakka Dakka consortium what do I do?

Supposedly Chaos is getting a new codex so that could be silly to spend a ton of money on models for them. That being said, I just dropped about $300 about a week ago on my new Black Legion army.

Why stop at 4,000 points? Get a Baneblade or two and make sure you have plenty of Leman Russes and guardsmen. The Imperial Guard Codex may change, but two things will always stay. The LRMBT and the Guardsmen

I'm not a fan of orks so I'm a little bias.

Blood angels are cool. But they aren't Chaos cool.

I say if you can bear it wait for Chaos to come out. In the mean time pick up some Chaos marines, a Rhino, a Termi Lord and some Terminators. That ought to hold you over.

If your brother is ploaying Necrons then perhaps Chaos would be a good choice and then when the new Chaos codex comes out you can both have the cheesiest armies for sixth ed.

I would skip the Daemons battle force. It's probably a good deal for fantasy, where you'll probably use those troops, but I've bought two of them over the last year, and I now have 40 Bloodletters, 30 Pink Horrors (bought an additional box of these), 10 Seekers and 20 Daemonettes. Outside of a rare Fantasy game, I only use the Horrors.

Your mileage may vary of course, depending on what you like to use.
