I'm sorry if these questions are dumbfethery, but I'm genuinely confused by the rulebook. Is the fortress of redemption one building with multiple sections, or is it a unit of buildings that has to be placed in base contact. For example, if I cause the fortress damage, does the entire fortress take the hit, or just the section I'm shooting at? The rules leave me confused.

The rules on Page 117 are pretty clear.

Two annexes (small buildings), main tower (medium building) and walkway (small building).
