July 21st @ Redcap's Corner
1,500 Pt. Warhammer 40,000 Highlander Tournament
Our first sixth edition tournament!

Location: Redcap's Corner, 3617 Lancaster Ave., First Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
Date and Time: July 21st, doors at 11AM, games at noon.
Cost: $10/player.

Army Composition: 1,500 pts./player (including allies and fortifications), and as it's a highlander tournament, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE (at most) of each codex unit in your army list. This means (for instance) 1 unit of fire warriors, 1 unit of kroot, 1 unit of crisis suits, etc. It's by codex entry, however, so in the aforementioned example you could still have both a unit of crisis suits and a crisis commander with bodyguards. If you choose to take allies, for highlander purposes you treat your two books as a single codex and may not take duplicates of squads with the same name from different books (note that the Daemon Prince entry in the Chaos Marines book is a different unit from the Daemon Prince of Chaos entry in the Chaos Daemons book, and they have different names too). If you're unsure about whether two different units are the same thing, think about the spirit of highlander, and err on the side of not risking it. Email if you're really unsure. If your codex only has one troop entry, you're allowed to take two units from that entry, but that's the only exception to the highlander rule. Email with additional questions if you have them.
Rounds: Three rounds, each consisting of two and a half hours of game play, with fifteen minutes per player additional time for deployment.
Models: Models need not be painted, and conversions are totally fine (Forge World, third party, scratch-built, whatever), but proxies are not allowed. If you have questions about whether a model would count as a conversion or a proxy, email us or stop by and ask us. Essentially, you need to make sure your models are equipped and portrayed in a clear and obvious way, but we want your army to look every bit as cool as you want it to!
Scenarios: Round 1 (Vanguard Strike+Emperor's Will), Round 2 (Hammer and Anvil+Purge the Alien), and Round 3 (Dawn of War+Big Guns Never Tire). Mysterious terrain and mysterious objectives are not in use.
Scoring: Crushing victories are worth 6 points, victories are worth 5, draws are worth 3, losses are worth 1, and crushed results are worth 0 points.
Special: As with all of our recent 40K events, Forge World non-Apocalypse rules are allowed, but please check with us for approval before the day of the tournament if you plan on using Forge World rules in your list.

Prizes: Store credit toward purchases at Redcap's Corner, based on tournament attendance, will be awarded to top finishers. This store credit can be used on anything in-store (even future events), and can be used on special orders placed with us, so even if we have nothing in-stock that you're after, you can make requests and we'll do our best to fill them.

Looks like a fun event! Glad to see y'all will be implementing 6th edition rules.

How will 'Fortifications' be placed at the beginning of the game? Because the rulebook calls for their placement before all other types of terrain, which are usually placed in advance at a tournament.

Also, will "Warlord" rules be in effect for all missions (not just Big Guns Never Tire)?

I love the smell of polyurethane in the morning!

Yeah, I know about the fortifications issue. We're going to just have to have them placed before deployment, but after other terrain. Warlord rules are in full effect.
