rainbow dashing to your side

even though it seems to be the bastard spawn of MTG and yu-gi-oh and has a terrible anime, I cant help but think that the game looks kinda fun to play. I have no idea how big it is over in the US but here in the UK no one seems to have heard of it. I was thinking of grabbing a starter set and grabbing a few mates who are also interested into playing a few games but I thought I should ask around here first, is it as fun as it looks? the game seems quick to play and the card art is pretty good on someof them but from what little I've seen there might be a few balance issues :?

anyway, thoughts on the game anyone :?

Forgive me if I necro this thread, but It think Vanguard, and the company, Bushiroad, cares more than Komani cares about YGO. I mean, the gameplay isn't as hard to get as YGO and Magic.

The Trial deck, while not everyone of them is perfect, is decently priced for having a playset (four copies) for most cards in the deck besides your Grades 3s. I mean, for YGO structure decks, it takes 3 of them (which are 9.99 each) just to make a ok deck that still needs to put more money to be tournament worthy.

I've got a few people into the game, and one said he was glad that a money deck can be beaten by a budget deck, since the game relies more on triggers, card advantage and knowing when to take damage.

It takes a few games to get used to the game, but it usually clicks for most people. I know in the USA, the game is still spreading, but I know YGO players who play at the FLGS on Saturdays also play Vanguard and love it.

The only issue with the game is that budget decks are somewhat difficult to do with certain clans, as popularity is the main factor determining cost of the deck.

I hope there's other people on dakka that play this. Would like to see more discussion on this card game.
