Hey all, I'm trying to bring my Eldar back to the lethal force they were in 5th, and need your help. How's this list look? HQ Farseer -RoWarding, RoWitnessing, Fortune, Doom, Spirit Stones..................155 Farseer -RoWarding, Guide.......................................................................100 Elites 10x Harlequins -Shadowseer, 10x Kisses................................................................250 Troops 5x Rangers...................................................................................95 5x Rangers...................................................................................95 5x Rangers...................................................................................95 5x Rangers...................................................................................95 Fast Nightwing.....................................................................................145 Nightwing.....................................................................................145 Heavy Phoenix Bomber.............................................................................225 Phoenix Bomber.............................................................................225 Ally Lelith Hesperax...............................................................................175 5x Wyches.....................................................................................50 Lelith + Wyches can be traded out for another bomber. Thoughts?

The boards seem to be favoring Walkers and spam s6 shots, I agree die to the glancing hp system. I am personally a huge fan of d-cannons, they may actually be useful now as well. I plan on doing 2x3 walkers and 3 Ds and testing how that goes. Some of the other eldar folks (much fewer in #) say wraithlords also spamming s6 shots, but they are big targets and if not properly protected can be taken down. As for troops, I'd try to add 2 or 3 bike squads x3 with s-cannon and a lock w/ spear, good support, fast moving to deny/claim objectives, seem to have more of a use now. Swooping Hawks are also a favorite of mine now that they can toss some grenades and glance things to death, they are getting some love on the forums too... In the end it's your army, your call, play what you like

I'm not sure what lilith and the wyches are for... theres only 5 of them, and without a transport they aren't going to get anywhere. Do Nightwings and Pheonix Bombers have hover mode? If they don't have Hover mode and/or at least Vector Dancer. I would highly suggest dropping yourself down to two fliers. The reason being is that a minimum of 18 inch move, and only a 90 degree pivot BEFORE moving make it very difficult to keep enemies in their sights, this gets exasperated when you have multiple fliers all competing for targets. You also need to be careful about flying off of the board- especially towards the end of the game, since if all your models are off the table at the end of a turn you auto lose. That said I do agree that the Nightwing is one of the best answers Eldar have against enemy fliers. The main thing that I dislike about your list though is your troops lack mobility, and that you have no anti tank outside of your fliers. 1) This means that your opponents will get as many as two turns (if you go second) of uncontested action from their tanks to punish your ground forces. This could easily put you on the back foot to start out, 2) and your lack of an Autarch means you may not get enough of your fliers IN to make enough of a difference when you need them too on turn 2. 3) Of course then if you somehow manage to push the enemy back with your Nightwings and Pheonix bombers, you still probably need to march across the board with t3 5+ save Ranger squads to get to enough objectives to win. Which could very well be the kiss of death. You could overcome a few of these problems by running Falcons instead of your Pheonix Bombers. Falcons for all their problems have a lot that you really want. They can benefit from guide or presience to shoot at razorbacks with 3 s8 shots in the opening turns. If your Falcons can survive the first few turns, you can also load up a squad of Rangers into them, and use them to ferry your rangers to objectives. Gives you early game anti tank, and a mobility option for your Ranger Squads. You may also benefit by replacing one of your Farseers with an Autarch. Being able to bring your fliers on earlier and more consistently is a great ability. 2+ on turn 2 and 3 is nothing to scoff at. At fliers can never come in early enough, since you want you can just toss em into ongoing reserves by criscrossing the corner of the board. Especially if you decide you want to run 4 fliers, an Autarch will help you immensely get your forces where you need them quickly. Adding some Guardian Jetbike Squads instead of a few of your Ranger Squads would give you a lot more mobile scoring options as well. GJB are pretty sweet, and while I have been impressed with the sniping from my Ranger squads, its the Guardian Jetbike Squads that have actually WON the games I've played with Eldar or allied to Eldar in 6th edition. The new turbo boost rules make them incredibly fast, 3+ armor, 4+ cover, Embolden for re rolling leadership makes them great at zipping along and snagging the objectives that win the game.

All eldar fliers have vector dancer.
Drop the guide farseer and grab yriel
Drop the other farseer for eldrad.
Drop the DE allies and grab another nightwing for AT duty.
Drop a set of rangers for 3 guardian jetbikes with a cannon. Keep the in reserve.
Group two of the ranger units together. Make them pathfinders. Eldrad sits here and fortunes a 2+ cover save and the harlequins, making them come to you.
Throw a fusion pistol on the harlequins.
Not so hot on the pheonix because of its lack of AT ability, but strafing run is nice. Make sure it has the pulse laser tho.

Lelith goes with the Harlequin/Farseer group just because I like her model and rules. Especially when she hits with 10 attacks that reroll hits and wounds. The wyches were just because I had to take a troop choice to get Lelith. She's overkill I guess, I'll save her for bigger games (2500ish). Since I really like the Eldar fliers (and the point was to get the most I could while still maintaining a semblance of usefulness) I'll drop the Phoenix bombers and have 3 Nightwings. That adds more of the AT you mentioned, and frees up lots of points. @Zephoid Its so hard to give up that second Farseer because of the fact that he has those RoWarding. 4D6 Ld tests completely shut down any and all psychic powers, and for only 30 points investment total. Plus, the guide that allows to hit in CC is so sweet. I like Yriel too, so I think he may go in the 2500 list with Lelith and more fliers. For now, I think I'll hold onto the seer and go with less fliers. The problem I have with Eldrad is his lack of fleet makes the Harlequins really, really variable. Being able to reroll that charge is extremely nice, but with Eldrad it doesn't happen. I suppose putting them as a camping group with Pathfinders may work though. My next question is - since Jetbikes are so much better now, should I run a Seer Council or the Harlequins? No matter which way I work it I can't fit both and I feel I should have one or the other for the Anti-Infantry (Destructor v. Kisses). Automatically Appended Next Post: So I'm looking at a skeleton structure like this:
HQ
?? Eldrad, 2x Farseers, and Autarch in some combination
Elite
Harlequins if not a Seer Council
Troops
10x Pathfinders
3 sets of 3x GJB w/ Cannons and Emboldenlocks
Fast
3x Nightwings
Heavy
?? Fire prisms, nightspinners?

Both players should be using the least durable units possible, with the house rule that all players remove an article of clothing every time you lose a unit, and take a drink every time you kill one of your opponent's units.
I have no idea which army will be triumphant, but I can assure you that everyone wins.

Still looking for some suggestions. I'm kind of stuck as to where to go at this point now . It seems like the army doesn't have the 'flow' of pure GJB or pure mech, and I feel it might be problematic. Help?

If your group allows FW units then I would load up on Nightwings, with the Eldar Titan holofields giving shoruding you will have a blast when your opponents go "WTF? I need 6s to hit and then you have a 2++ cover save?!?"
EJBs fits nicely with the shoot and scoot them of an eldar flier list. A Fortuned Falcon/Serpent, while not nearly as survivable as in the previous editions, can still protect a squad of DAVUs. Or you could ally in some DE for better troops than what CW eldar have atm.
Maybe try something like this?
HQ:
Farseer (EJB, MindWar, Eldricht Storm, Stones, RoWard, Spear) = 163
Troops:
6xEJBs (2xCannon, EmboldenLock, Spear) = 205
6xEJBs (2xCannon, EmboldenLock, Spear) = 205
6xEJBs (2xCannon, EmboldenLock, Spear) = 205
5xPathfinders = 120
Fast:
Nightwing = 145
Nightwing = 145
Nightwing = 145
Heavy:
3xShadow Weavers = 90
3xShadow Weavers = 90
Phoenix Bomber = 225
Aegis Defence Line (Quad gun) = 100
Hide the Pathfinder and the shadow weavers behind the wall. The weavers will provide 6 str 6 blasts/turn and with T/ and a +4 coversave they should be safe. Farseer change powers. No counter attack at all but I guess you could always drop the Bomber for a squad of Harlies if you really want to.
