Is a Gets Hot! Wound a shooting or close combat wound? No. Therefore no LOS. (Same reason why you cannot for PotW).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

What did you think a Space Marine Captain would have time to play "Hot Potato" with his command squad before his plasma pistol blew up?
Definitely a no.

I am not sure on this. First, you dont get los on potw due to no wound ever being allocated. I am pretty sure gets hot does get allocated, so I don't see why you couldnt los a gets hot wound that is allocated to a character. Though I do admit, I have not looked closely at gets hot...

The wording is similar between Gets Hot! and Perils. The model suffers a wound.

No wound is allocated, you just get wounded.

Gets Hot states that a model suffers a wound. It also says that armor saves and invul saves can be taken.

This means that a Gets Hot would is just an "auto-allocated" wound to the model.

A LOS can be made on a wound(or unsaved wound) is allocated to your character or IC.

Probably not what was intended but it fits

Perils also says the model suffers a wound. Would you allow that to be LOS'd?

Nope. It means exactly what it says, model suffers a wound. No allocation is done and therefore no LoS.

I did say it was probably not what was intended but RAW are what they are.

POW says no save of any kind, so I would think that negates a LOS

Except LOS is not a save.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

But you can't LoS it because you weren't allocated the Perils or Gets Hot.

Both say the model takes a wound. It bypasses allocation.

And fluffwise, you can't jump in the way of a bad case of exploding ears. Maybe you could justify the Gets Hot LoS, Brother Bob notices the Captain forgot the vent his pistol and grabs the pistol before it overheats. But currently it doesn't work.

on the forum. Obviously

Yeah, you can't use LOS on perils or get's hot, as it affects only the offending model.
It explicitly says that; unlike conventional hits that could be allocated against anyone in the squad.

Given you made up the "auto allocation" idea, when no wound is EVER allocated, no it IS NOT RAW.

So one has to roll each plasma shot individually to know which model fired it?

I thought this was the case, but others told me otherwise. Ill double check when I get home.
