heavy support
vindicator 125
defiler 150
5 havocs with 4 heavy bolters 135

for a total of 1495

The idea would be to have the vindicator and defiler pretty much provide the anti hord/anti heavy tanks while the twelve plasma guns hold points and slow advance up the battlefield. The sorc would go with one of the plague marine squads in a rino. The ideal situation being that they would take shots out of the inside of the rino until the last moment when they jumped out for a rapid fire with warptime.
Anyone see it running into major problems?

I think the army will struggle against AV13/14 because you're lacking long range high S anti tank shots or melta for up close.

Start by swapping the havocs for an autocannon/lascannon predator and swap some of the plasma guns for melta. As far as the sorcerer, with the rule change to warptime, I'd probably just go with doombolt for the cheap shooting power, that or wind of chaos.

I agree with minigun you wont be able to crack AV 14 vehicles reliably in any way.A horde army will run over this list there long range guns would kill the vindicator and defiler first and and proceed to march across the field without anything stopping them besides a few heavy bolter shots. just my thoughts.

Enemy gunlines, the likes of I.G and Tau will eat you alive before you get enough damage done.
You only have one unit that can shoot any further then 36" and it will be a prime target to remove before anything else.
After that they'll basically wait for you to try to walk into range and blow you to pieces with heavier firepower then what you can bring to the table with this list.

If the Havoks had Autocannons, Missile Launchers or Lascannons they'd at least have a better chance of not getting shot to pieces before they get into range.
But if you insist on Heavy Bolters they'll probably die before they get into a good range to kill enough enemy units to make them worthwhile. Or they'll just be ignored completely.
Heck, even the sheer weight of shots coming from an enemy gunline will reduce you down to chunklets before you can shoot them back.
And like everyone has said, if the opponent decides to throw an AV14 vehicle or two at you you're gonna have a hell of a time popping it open before it causes a bit of damage to you as well.

That's just my two cents from playing an army similar to this against other gunlines and finding I can't outshoot them with so little units on the board.

Chaos, at the moment, works with the rule of two. So take two defilers or two vindis. If you go with the vindicators i never leave home without DP, it ensures it keeps firing. That being said.... i'm not sure how it stands in 6th because i've not really played any games with my chaos in 6th yet.

Warptime as mentioned by minigun has been changed so you can't re-roll just the misses, you need to re-roll all of your dice. Best just buy doombolt then change it for a power from the rulebook.

I would drop a squad of PM's and take a 10man CSM squad with 2x melta to go tank hunting. Or... 5 chosen with 4 meltaguns, whatever floats your boat.
