Quick question and I hope it's not a stupid one.

Gonna be starting painting my Vampire Counts army over the weekend. Do people paint each piece individually and then glue it together or the other way round?

Typically its best to assemble as much of the model as possible prior to painting it, since I havent done much in the way of WFB modelling the only examples I can give are in the cases of 40K.

For example:

When assembling a space marine model I typically glue the entire model together except the gun as it blocks access to painting the chest symbol. This way you can paint and highlight the model as a whole where was painting in bits can give you irregular or unrealistic highlights.
