Like this list, mostly because it isn't cookie cutter.
I would change at least the frost weapon on the Lord to a Power Fist or Thunder Hammer. You go up against a marine Hq in a challenge more than likely he will be in Terminator armour, with Saga of the Bear an a 2+ 3+ you can afford to go last. Also with str10 your Wolf Lord will be the bane of MCs, I would also try an find the points to get him a couple of pets, I like to call them wounds 4 an 5 look out sir works great when you chuck that puppy in front of a las cannon or railgun shot. The frost weapon on the cav is also meh for me, with the other guys in the unit putting out 12 rending attacks I don't think ya need the frost weapon, if anything I would go with a power fist over a melta bomb, with the new rules to hit vehicles 5 str 10 attacks is better than 1 str 8 melta hit.
Also just have to say, love the Vindicator with the changes to glancing hits an the ability to flat out in the run phase you have a much greater chance of being able to chuck that str10 large blast template in turn 2
Also good call on the Plasma Cannons for the Long Fangs.
Good list.

Hey Your list is pretty good start, So I would Suggest a few altercations to your list. I see you footslogging, I love footslogging lists: D It is debatable which one is better so far I think mech is a tad bit better but it really is up for debate. I would actually drop the wolf lord now this is a questionable call but I think for point efficiency you can get some better units. Instead take another Rune Priest with Divination; it is a nice buffer to the units around him. I also suggest dropping the Vindicator and Thunderwolf Calvary as well. Instead get another Long Fang squad, you can do a similar load out, I would suggest all missiles or 3 missiles 2 lascannons. I would drop the power weapon for mark of wulfen. At least one grey hunter squad should take some melta as well; never know when a land raider or other armor heavy units roll up. For the Wolf guard detaching I suggest giving them a combi-weapon and a powerfist. I would else recommend taking some land speeders with Heavy Flamer multi melta. This is great anti tank or anti infantry, it is a well rounded unit, and can blow up those fancy land raiders with ease. The fortification is nice touch to the army and can help with anti flyer. Also note Wolftooth necklace is not needed on Rune Priests, If you have to points you can put in runice weapon and I do not think the master of Runes is needed.

So basically you are saying he should go out an copy an paste any one of the hundred Space Wolf lists anywhere. His list has flavor an style, no offense but more grey hunters, rune priests, an longs fangs are not only boring as hell, but one of the main reasons people can't stand Space Wolves.

Foot slogging may be difficult, it can work with logan just so you know.
Otherwise think about saga of the hunter. If you grey hunters outflank they stay alive and can get some free movement.
I would maybe consider an ally just as you have a lack of mobility concentrating on infantry. Maybe some melta bikes or jump pack melta, or something like that. Keep it non av, to waste the enemies anti mech guns

Footslogging is not that bad if you practice and know what you are doing. The only times it has been painful is if I'm bunched up when a Dark Eldar flyer drops all four missiles in one go. I footslogged in 5th edition and didn't even have that bad a time (I do have a few local tourney trophies to my name so I feel my anecdotal experience isn't totally worthless). It can be hard though, and hybrid lists tend to be better than either anyways.
Anyways, on to the commentary:
1) HQ heavy, but that's not a bad thing in of itself.
2) I fully approve of your Wolf Lord. I ran a WGBL similarly geared in 5th edition and he still beats face. I would however, consider taking a Thunderhammer or Power Fist instead of the Frost Blade if you insist on Saga of the Bear. Its your Wolf Lord, so play him how you will, but IMO the risk of low initiative is offset when you have Eternal Warrior, but with I:5 you want to just wreck as much as you can so Saga of the Warrior can help more in that area. Just a personal preference.
3) I've never been the biggest fan of JotWW. Its overrated. Consider Murderous Hurricane as an option. I forsee lots of Living Lightning + Divination combinations in our futures...
4) What power weapons are going on your Grey Hunters? I'd recommend Axes so you have AP:2. I'd also recommend Mark of the Wulfen unless you are against it for fluff reasons. It is well worth the points, and considering it costs the same as a power weapon does its the better option. Its a force multiplier much of the time.
5) Stick with the Plasma in your Grey Hunters. I've been rocking 3 packs with Plasma and 2 with Melta for most of 5th edition and I never regretted going mostly Plasma even then. Now its even easier since Glances can do real damage.
6) Frost Armor on your Wolf Guard? Axe or Sword? If Axe, why not a Fist? Points are usually the same and S8 is better than S5. I really think Unwieldy should be changed to half Initiative instead of Initiative 1, and Fists/Klaws/Hammers given something else to lower them to I:1. But for now...
7) You don't need different wargear on your Wolf Guard now. It won't help with wound allocation, though these guys are probably leading your Grey Hunters. In which case, get some Combi-Plasma or Combi-Melta for them.
8) See above, wound allocation doesn't exist the same way. Drop the Meltabomb. The S5 Rending hits will do the glancing damage you need.
9) Get a Wolf Claw or Power Fist on the one Thunderwolf Cavalry model. S10 beats S6, and re-rolls to hit will give you more wounds against MEQ than S6 alone will when you are WS:4.
10) I like the Plasma Cannons. I feel only one in each is not enough though. Fire Control is not the same as Split Fire. We can still have 3 firing at one unit and 2 at another.
11) Vindicators are not trash now. More armor in your list would help it survive however, as it will split the attention of all the anti-tank weapons. Keep this in mind. Every lascannon on the table will want to go for him.
12) ADL isn't that fantastic. It costs more, but the Bastion is way better. AV:14 and lets you have the same protection as the ADL from up higher. Better perch for your Long Fangs.
13)Just remember, I don't think your Squad Leader can direct Fire Control and fire the ADL at the same time. Wolf Guard Pack leaders running naked may be worth adding. Plus they can add to the body count so you can grab an Assault Cannon for one of your Grey Hunter squads...

Thanks for the advice so far . I did end up changing a few things around, like adding some Mark of the Wulfen to 2 Grey Hunter squads, removing the wolftooth necklaces from the rune priests, giving Powerfists to the wolf lord and some of the wolf guard, and also some combi-meltas for the wolf guard to add some melta into the army. cowmonaut; I would like to have 2 plasma cannons in each long fang squad but the points just aren't there, maybe with a little more tweeking. Also I do like the idea of my main rune priest having murderous hurricane and tempest's wrath and just making so much of the battlefield difficult and dangerous terrain.
Thanks for all the input so far, please, keep it coming.
