I played CnC's first video battle report last Tuesday against a Blood Raven (played using the actual SM codex) army. 1500 Points. You can find the whole article and video here:

Capture and Control: Our First 6th Edition Battle Report!

The lists were simple. I took a 1500 point 5th ed Draigowing list, that had about 19 models in it. I played against a double Epistolary SM list that used GoI and Null zone on one libby and rolled on the Telekenesis chart for the other. He took the Primaris and got Hallucination. Hallucination is a beast! Hard fought, check out the video for the full details.

Not the most exciting battle with Termies lining up and shooting stuff at each other but still informative on the strengths/weaknesses of 6th. I expect to see more powers that can nullify a unit for a round like Hallucination, hopefully that will also steer people away from 4 KP armies... since your deathstar might do nothing (or worse, attack another of your units!) it becomes a liability compared to a more diverse army. I think the rules when digested as a whole encourage all armies toward a true "all comers" set up. The old 5th lists will do ok, and the new fun lists (2 librarians is having fun with powers amirite?) will be able to hold their own with some luck, but I think the best lists will be able to handle mech, psykers, flyers, termies, and infantry... true all comers.

Do more reports man!

I agree about the all comers lists being the most powerful. But the same was true in 5th too. If I saw a deathstar centric army I would definitely consider swapping some psyker powers on the chance of getting hallucination. Being able to shoot up and then charge a Deathstar that can't overwatch let alone swing back in combat at all is just too good to pass up I think. Then again my next project is Necrons, no allies, so that option isn't really open to me!

Check back here and on capture and control tomorrow, I plan to put up a battle report I played against Sands Daemons. I use the same list, he has Fatweaver and 3 Soul Grinders, at 1500...
