Hi guys.
I love the Sd kfz 222's and I'm trying to fit them in a list somewhere without using the V3 forces book.
I using the Earth & Steel book and I'm currently collecting Panzergrenadier Lehr, but the Lehr only have Puma's and 250's. So I've been looking around for a suitable list but I cant seem to find one. Can anyone give me any ideas?
Also does anyone know what paint scheme the 221/222's used in Normandy?

Have you looked at the Aufklarungs PDF? The Panzerspah list can field a horde of 222s, and the Gep and Moto Aufk's can field a couple platoons each.

Thanks for all the info peeps. I'll check out that PDF and try build a good list around that. Failing that I think I'll just buy them and paint them anyway as I really like the vehicle.
Again, does anyone know what paint scheme they had? I've seen some instances where they are a battleship grey, while others they have dunkelgelb.

If its in Normandy, then it would be in Dunkel Gelb.
From 1943 everything was to be in Dunkel Gelb with various oversprays of green or red brown.
By Normandy very little remained grey. While support vehicle were left till they needed painting, combat vehicles were repainted fairly soon as the new regulations came out... Certainly all Panzer Lehr stuff would have been yellow with green or brown overspray.

Nice, I like the 222's they are great fun in Burning Empires, and raiding missions, because they can move a hell of a distance "At the double". Combined with a decent little gun, the problem is that the Command One doesn't get any weapons, (I think just an AA Machine gun) which reduces your firepower per platoon section by a Third. Fielding a swarm could be fun, I would love to do this with an Aufklarung list List for example.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |

Well, I went out and bought them anyway. I got one Sd KFZ 223 (radio) and 2 Sd kfz 222's. I'll fit them into a list somewhere, I'm more looking forward to painting them. But can I just say what a royal pain in the arse it is to assemble the radio antenna.

The company you want is called the Panzerspahkompanie. There's one in both Earth & Steel and Grey Wolf
It's an armored recon company where the base combat platoons are all armored cars. You can take 222/223 platoons, very cheaply and en masse, then fill up on support due to how cheap the armored cars are.
With the new recon rules, it's pretty effective although you'll want an equal mix of pumas so you can threaten vehicles or tanks with side shots. The E&S list only has Light Panzerspah and Half-track panzerspah, so you'll rely more on your tanks and AT guns. Pumas, and the access to armored panzerpioniers and their stuka zu foss, is the reason why I went with the Grey Wolf version.
However, with the E&S version, you get quite a unique look for your grenadiers in the older U304(f) half tracks, along with some captured equipment like a Firefly in your Panzer 4 platoon.
