Right, i cant have been the only one drooling over the heavy chainsword in the rulebook, and having asked at my local GW. i got this qoute "The heavy chainsword can go onto any model with a ccw yes. "

So, anyone fielding it yet? how are we modeling it? and hows it fared up for people who have tested it out? and who will be?

Where in the rulebook or FAQs does it say any model can take a heavy chainsword? Like the flakk missile it is probably an upgrade that will be available in future codexes.

Thus why i asked the staffer, check out my stores FB if you wish *shrug* he said it can be supplemented with anything simply listing "CCW"

Yea, I really, really doubt this.

It would be an INSANE upgrade for orks...

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

A store manager putting it on his stores Facebook page doesn't make it correct.

It's a potential new weapon. Either an upgrade or basic weapon. However, unless a codex specifically lists it or a FAQ adds it to a coded, it remains as potential rules only, just like the flak missile.

Basically, your store manager was pulling poop from the chute.

Pretty much. If you made it a house rule, like MLs could take Flakk missiles for 5 points, or any model, or any Imperial model, or any human model, or any human officer or sergeant could take one for 10 points, and asked if one would take it, it is a different question altogether.

For example I run a lot of different army lists, some mixed, some elite, some horde. My horde armies would probably take such an upgrade over power weapons, while my more elite forces wouldn't (I play Guard BTW).

You'd think the Big Choppa and the Flesh Tearers SC would get it though.

I think the only heavy chainsword is Gabriel Seth's.

Think its bigger than an eviscerater or smaller? or more along the lines of a chainaxe?

Huh, that's strange. Always thought the heavy chainsword was just the same name for the ol' eviscerator. But looking at the appendices in the BRB, they're two seperate weapon entries. Well Ill be damned...
