So finished (mostly) a new song (Antibody), and looking for some feedback from people who will ruthlessly criticize and give me their opinion without any regards for my feelings. What better place than Dakka OT?

Have a listen and let me know what you think. It's all instrumental at the moment, with plenty of room left for vocals as I'm still looking for a singer before I finish fleshing them out. If it holds your attention long enough, feel free to comment on any of the other songs on there as well. If it's not your style of music, that won't hurt my feelings.

That sounds pretty epic
It's got a pretty grim feel to it which is awesome.

Heh, sorry for the late reply. I figured the thread dropped off without any replies.

First let me say thanks for the kind words, it's always appreciated. Second, I'd be interested in hearing any ideas you'd have if you have a method of recording decent quality tracks where you are. Also, maybe if you have any examples of work you've done that I could hear, that would be great.

Hiya! Didn't see this first time around, sorry. Yeah, sounds typically awesome, but then I'm a fan anyway. I love how abrasive the synths sound. That's right up my street. Big thumbs up from me.

I must get 'round to figuring out some sort of collaboration...

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Thanks again guys, it's amazing how sometimes when you are feeling like packing it all up, a few kind comments can change your attitude.

Mostly thanks to this beast:

I've been using the Virus series for 8-9 years now, and they are just simply one of the darkest, most brutal VA synths out there. Add in the VST functionality of the TI series and you have one of the best tools an electronic musician can buy. Sadly, I think I'm going to have to unload mine due to monetary reasons, but if I ever get back to being able to buy synths again, it'll be the first piece of kit I pick up.

I must get 'round to figuring out some sort of collaboration...

I'm always open for new goodies to work on

I've just realised that your stuff sounds like an electronica version of Elena Siegman's music.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Maybe the lyrics/vocal style could be along the lines of those sort of songs?

Yeah, replace the guitars with synths and slow it down to a little more grindy groove and I can see the resemblance. Having been strongly influenced by both rock and electronic music, I basically try and do rock with synths. I have a "no guitar" policy. Anytime I feel the need for something guitar-like, I create it with synths (even though I play guitar, actually longer than I've played keys).

For vocals, if I go with another female vocalist (almost every collaberation/band I've done has been female vocalists), ideally it'd be something along the same vein as Lucia Cifarelli from KMFDM...but honestly at this point it'll probably be who ever is willing to do it that doesn't suck or completely clash with me or what I'm doing.
