Hello all,
I am writing up a list for a necron list with a lot of warriors. Not a full spam, but an eye opening amount of flayers! I would like some outside advice.
What units work well with a warrior heavy build? The monolith comes to mind for instant troop movement. Ghost Arks obviously. Any other special rules or units bolster this force?
I was thinking this for 1500......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warriors x 15
-StormTek - Lightning Field, Voltaic Staff
Warriors x 15
-StormTek - Lightning Field, Voltaic Staff
Warriors x 09
-DestrucTek - Lance, Solar Pulse
-Ghost Ark
Overlord
-Warscythe
-Mind Scarabs
-Resurrection Orb
-Sempiternal Weave
Overlord
-Warscythe
-Mind Scarabs
-Resurrection Orb
-Sempiternal Weave
Monolith
Triarch Stalker
-Twin Linked Heavy Gauss Cannon
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With this I still have 65 points for 1500 points. What could I do to tweak or add to this list? Recommendations for 1850? By 2000 points I want 50-60 warriors. (awesome..lol)
If this belongs in the army list section..I'm sorry. I thought because its more a discussion it would be appropriate here. Thanks for all comments in advance!
have fun

i would sugest trying to add harbingers of despair with veil so you you have teleporty manuevarability 10 warriors with a despairtek and a stormtek with veil can kill any vehicle pretty reliably. with that you might not want the monolith cuz i honestly done think there good compared to ditching it for 2 nightscythes so you have some AA.

I would advise dropping the monolith at this points level, maybe get a pair a a-barges, then use the left over points to boost your warrior count.
Drop one overlord, get a regular lord if you are set on a res orb for your warrior squads, and then use the rest of the leftover points for crypteks (maybe of the storm, for the haywire staves against armor, or maybe a cryptek with VOD for increased maneuverability.
The twin linking on the stalker will be useful to maximize your small arms fire.
Its hard to get those first few comments on a list, trust me i know too

it is hard. lol. but you really helped me out. All things you pointed out are spot on. No need for two overlords. and the lightning field is probably not as essential as my warriors shouldnt really get into combat. Unfortunatley right now I dont have a couple A barges floating around..but soon. For now the lith will probably stay until I can get those models. But thanks for the great advice, iGuy

Anytime good sir, yeah with overwatch now, a brick of 15 warriors gets 30 shots to deter would-be chargers
Otherwise, you seem on the right track, and trust me, i field monoliths still as well, despite conventional internet wisdom.

Monolith is 200 points you can spend on some better shooting like barges. At present you are looking at only being able to shoot at no more than 3-4 targets a turn with a potential for massive overkill on each of those.

200 points for str8 ap3 plate. 4 other guass cannons that all split fire. Move and fire all. Not enough shooting? If a cc unit worth thier weight in salt would be near the monolith you can just teleport any unit on the board to your immediate position. How is that not money.
Granted 8 autocannon that moves and fires is great to. But for the same points basically just having that cinderblock to block los is so handy. You know it will be there at the end of the game.
Just my 2 cents. And this is all theory. Moar play testing is needed.

I try to field warrior heavy lists as well.
Here is my standard 1500 TAC list for comparison - it has served me very well so far (no losses....yet)
As the points go up I add in more Warriors, Destroyers and a Monolith at the 2k points mark
SO glad i didn't get rid of my old warrior blocks in favour of the new Immortals.
