So I am going soon acquire a small space wolves army from a friend of mine, as I never got the chance to get to play space wolves before 2nd wave came out. As I am still learning 6th edition and not planning on being in serious tournaments, I've made a 1750 list based on what I know I am getting (with slightly proxying for one squad). I just wanted to know if the list is durable for being able to considered an all-comers list.

Wolf Lord- 250 pts

Runic Armour
Thunderwold Mount
Storm Shield
Saga of the Warrior Born
Wolftooth necklace
Wolf-tail talisman

9x Grey Hunters- 165 pts

Point cost looks off on some of these choices (such as the Rune Priest).

Overall its a bit light on the ranged firepower. That will turn into a problem. Your Grey Hunters hoof it and have too short of range for any anti-vehicle work. The Storm Raven has to Reserve so won't come in until turn 2-3 usually. Against an Eldar, Guard, or really any kind of Mech list you'll be in a world of hurt.

I don't feel the Blood Angels detachment is adding much of anything to your list aside from the Storm Raven.

Really you need some Long Fangs or otherwise some other source of ranged firepower. A different Allied detachment (Guard being popular) or composition would do wonders.

If you did do angels, I would not do a librarian, he wont really do anything at all, I would drop one grey hunter squad for long fangs drop libby for more DC

I do guard, but I wouldnt know how though. As for long fangs, 3 squads with 4 missiles?

Still need an HQ for allies per rule. Suggestions?

I would suggest a Reclusiarch. He'll really boost all DC. Liturgies of blood gives you re-rolls to hit and wound on DC. You could ditch all the JP on DC and have a larger squad which will be able to slaughter most infantry squads...

Funny, people used to tell me librarians for DCs. Sixth edition did something I suppose.

Well if you have a Rune Priest you don't really need their Librarian.

Also, the re-rolls apply to shooting as well as combat now so its a bit stronger of a choice.

I just thought that with a ridiculous number of attacks from them with the new Rage rule it would be more beneficial to them to get re-rolls than to have psychic back-up. I've never heard of anyone taking a libby with DC but that's probably just me.

Considering the Librarian does have Unleash rage, which grants preferred enemy. Otherwise, is it really not worth the 20 points to put a rune priest in 2+ armour?

How about putting the librarian on a bike and running him with the thunderwolves?
