Got a few questions about the tabletop, planning on getting a tyranid army but

Since the 6th edition codex came out, should i just buy that instead of the 5th tyranid codex? or do i need both? or should i wait for the 6th tyranid codex?

Do i lose the game if my HQ unit dies on the board?

Based on the rumors that we have right now Tyranids aren't the next in line for a new codex, however the game designers are aware they need some help. So maybe in the not so distant future?

But you will need the 6th edition rulebook. There really is no edition that each codex is in per se. It's more about when it came out and just because your codex came out in 4th edition (or otherwise) doesn't mean that it is supposed to be used in only 4th edition games. The codecies carry over from edition to edition, and some armies will go entire rulebook editions without a new codex.

And no if you lose your HQ you do not lose the game.
