Not only my first ever battlewagon, but my first ever non-walker vehicle, all done and tabletop ready. Not great but I'm happy with how it looks on the table

I normally hate paint jobs on ork vehicles. I've been putting off painting all my wagons because I just don't know how I would do them to make them NOT look like absolute trash.

I actually like what you've done.

Some of the detail work could have used a bit more care, for example, I can see streak marks from your washes, which is something that can be fixed with experience.

But I love the way you chose to break up the colour. Edging each of the plates with the metallic, as well as making the rivets metallic, really does a lot to break up the red. Did you also wash between the red plates with black? It feels very defined, which a lot of other paint jobs on here lack. The plates tend to blend together, making most ork paint jobs a mess of brightness.

Anyway, good show. This was good inspiration showing that ork vehicles CAN look good, even if you're not a Golden Daemon winner.

I think it looks good. You don't see many ork vehicles quite as subdued so it is unique and refreshing I think.

The great thing about Orks is no matter how badly you paint them they still look like awesome Ork models but yours looks great nice job!

Thanks for the C&C all! Any tips that can be applied on my future trukks/wagons/bombers are more than welcome! If it wasn't obvious, I'm still very inexperienced

Yeah, the red (and most of the model, actually) was given a heavy wash with my lost pot of Devlan Mud.

Almost all the washing was done with Devlan Mud (except the Ork and the Big Shoota), but I made sure to manipulate the excess wash to group into the sections between the plates to define them more.
