Hi guys i dont have the book... but i thought it would be a nice concept.

id look at using Megga Armour nobz Deffdreads and killa kans if needed...

Just as a general question... do you think this would be cool? would it work? and all ork.players out there...could it be legal? im sure you can have 1 nob troop unit but out of the above can you have a 2nd?

even with special characters?

finally any ither sugetions on what i could.include? land raider made battle wagons perhaps?

Im no ork player but im fairly sure that Gazkhul (spelling?) makes Mega armoured nobz a troops choice.

All warbosses do. You can simply field two Warbosses (one of them may be Thrakka) and field two nob units of any kind as troops. So you are able to happily field up to 50 MANz, if you feel like it.

Dribble Joy is currently working on a Deffwing army, maybe have a loot at his posts in the huge ork thread in tactics.

You'll want to either wait for a plastic kit (allegedly coming out in the next few months) or get really good at converting plastic Nobz and plasticard. The Terminator to MANz conversions almost universally look atrocious unless there's some serious scratchbuilding going on on top of the basic model.

yea i saw the prices :-\ i was looking at improving my plasticardskils but if theres a plastic kit c9ming out soon that would be good.

Killa kans for sure! The +1 bs is huge especially for orks.

Killa Kans only have 2 hull points; they were nerfed pretty bad, especially with krak grenades hitting on WS now. If you charge a lowly Scout Marine squad they're going to be hitting before you, hitting on 3s, glancing on 5s and penning on 6s with their krak grenades. It's unfortunate that Kans got hit so hard.

plastic MANzi got a semi-chub reading that. I have 10 old metal MANz converted to black orc heads to make them look meaner and be scaled correctly, MANz heads on the metal models are about half the size a normal ork head. If they make them even remotely close to the style they used on dreads and kanz it will be an epic success.

Considering how they just made the MANz in finecast, I I'm not holding my breath for the plastic kit. It would be awesome, but I haven't heard any rumors about it coming any time soon.

I am also doing a Deffwing army.

I plan to get 30 AoBR nobs and 1,mm plasticard and some plastic tubes and make the basic mega armour.

Then I will buy some killa kan bits from a chinese seller I know for the TL big shootas and power klaws.

All In all should cost about £75 for me.

I direct you to the Hive Tyrant, which was in Finecast for all of 6 months or so.

True, I forgot about that. Yet another 'Finecast is great, guys!' ploy by GW, no doubt.

I think it just means those models sell fairly well as is and they might as well sell them in the cheaper material before the plastic kit is introduced. To be fair though, good casts of the MANz models would be a lot more fun to put together than the giant hunks of pewter with their heavy metal arms that like falling off. I'm not going to miss pinning.

Bah pinning was so satisfying my mega nobs are so well put together you could use them as cannon grapeshot.

Whilst normally I get annoyed by price rants, at £15 a model Meganobz are prohibitively expensive. A shame, as I ike the models, but oh well.

I would recommend Nobz or WHFB Black Orcs as the base models.

The rumors about the ork plastic wave are dated to spring 2013 though. Not much point in waiting.
