I ran a Black Tide list last time I played my Black Templars and it seemed to do really well with a lot of the 6th edition rules. I am going to try it again in a bit of a revamped format that isn't just so straight forward Black Tide. Tell me what you think, CC welcome but as a pre-note I do not own Terminators nor Typhoon Landspeeders:

Spoiler:
Marhsal - (Lighting Claw/Storm Shield/Terminator Honours/Adamantine Mantle/Holy Orb of Antioch/Frag Grenade)
Emperor's Champion - (SNTUTL/Black Sword/Armour of Faith/Frag Grenades/Crusader Seal)
10/10 Crusaders - (Bolt Pistol/Chainswords/Power Fist/Meltagun)
10/10 Crusaders - (Bolt Pistol/Chainswords/Power Fist/Meltagun)
8 Crusaders - (Bolters/Krak Grenades/Meltagun)
10 Crusaders - (Bolters)
Drop Pod - (Stormbolters)
Drop Pod - (Stormbolters)
Total: 1250

So the two smaller crusader squads will be in the pods? Why not equip the bolter only squad with a melta, or krak? Drop near a tank or heavy unit and pop it. I dont think it would pay just to have bolters on them.

Also, have you had much luck with the holy orb? For 15points, I personally never use it.

Holy Orb is 10 points, and it is more because I can't not bring a Monty Python reference to the field. Just to use it and be able to quote the movie for some laughs. However, it isn't bad with wounding on a 2+ and being AP3. Also it helps since my Commander has no shooting attacks, at least he gets one if I really need it.

The group of 8 and 10 are dropping in the pods, you are correct. The one with the Krak + Melta is doing exactly what you said, than turning into a distraction for turn 1 or also maybe turn 2 if I am lucky with saves/enemy shooting. The reason for the 10 squad just having Bolters is they are meant to drop behind my main 2 x 10/10 squads (as well as my Ork ally) and hold a/the objective. Since they are Templars they will have to Go to Ground if they are ever shot at, since otherwise they are going to Righteous Zeal themselves off the point. This makes a Lascannon difficult as I can't move the turn I shoot it, and since they are holding on Objective any close ranged weapon that isn't Heavy will be largely useless. I see them hiding behind their pod and going to ground for most of the game honestly (or being left alone, which is desired).

Humm, good logic in that. I am going to try my drop pod list tonight, an 1850, its a little further down in the form.

Well a fellow Templar player was telling me about the righteous zeal rule. It follows along with a considlate move, so if you chose to consilidate after an assault, you roll a d6, and lets say you get a 5. You dont have to move the full 5 inches according to the rules. So he was playing with RZ and only moving if it benefited him. I am not sure i agree with that, but it seem that it is the way it is written.

Actually I never really thought about it that way. I guess that could make sense.....with it just being equal to consolidation movement. Interesting prospect. Still note entirely sure if I want to give them anything though as the list is pretty rounded for what it is suppose to be overall. I guess I could drop the Holy Orb and bring a Missile Launcher but....the Holy Orb is so kewl.

Go for an odd number of drop pods, with tastier mechanical things or heavily armoured troops.
Also some ranged attack would be nice maybe something a little floaty and cheap.
