Since I don't have that much money, I can't make a very expensive army, so I have to go with what I already have. How does this sound against orks. (It's probably terrible because I just started playing)
HQ: Marneus Calger + 5 honor Guard... 485pts
Space Marine Captain... 115pts
Elites: 5 Terminators... 200pts
5 Assault Terminators... 200pts
Troops: 30 Space Marines... 510pts
5 Scout Snipers With Sergeant Telion... 125pts
Dedicated Transport: 1 Rhino... 45pts
Heavy Support: 1 Thunderfire Cannon... 100pts
1 Predator... 130pts
Fast Attack: Assault Squad... 100pts
2010pts
The army is very weird and mixed up because those are all of the pieces I have.
Give me suggestions on what to get as long as it is not to expensive or some tactics on how to beat an ork army.
Thx.

Well I don't know space marines only wolves, but this would be a list to just have fun with. I don't see it lasting long against a competitive list but ask you opponent to make a crazy weird 2k ork list.

What do the space marine captain, the assault terminators, tactical squads and the predator have in terms of weapons and wargear?

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar
|
Do the 30 tac marines have special and heavy weapons? If not, I'd scrape together the cash for a devastator box and give those boys some big guns.
You have the core of a solid gunline. One problem I see if you have two expensive assault units (Clagar and the assault terminators) and no way of getting them into close combat. IMHO they really need land raiders. Which cost big bucks, so that's out. I could see taking one as a counter-charge unit, but both (plus your assault marines) is a bit overkill.
To be honest, if you drop Calger and his guard and run a 1,500 point list you would be in much better shape.
I've seen a lot of different way to field orks, so tactics on how to beat them vary. What do you normally see fielded? Generally tactics are going to be blow up his trucks as early as possible, mow down the orks as they footslog across the board, and then counter-charge them with your assault troops. Bunker up and let them come to you. You have one squad in a rhino to go out and try to grab objectives. Adding another (or two drop pods) will help you win games.
Remember, most games are based on seizing objectives, you need a way to get your troops to them. A lot of new players just focus on killing stuff, which makes for a fun afternoon of gaming. But at the end of the game, when you are tallying up VP, the person who kept track of the actual victory conditions is going to win. Don't forget the secondary objectives either.
You don't have any anti-aircraft options. If he brings dakkajets/bombers/whatever you are going to feel the pain. The cheapest option is to get an aegis line. This will provide cover for your gunline and let you try to shoot down his planes. Talion manning the quad-guns should give you a good chance to clear the sky. For more cash and points you can get a storm talon and try dogfighting.

If you bought a raider you would probably win against orks, it is true.
Just keep way back and try to out shoot the orks.
You have some awesome units, they do not tie together so well.
vanilla assault units do happen to need a raider to get into assault, unfortunately.
Otherwise I would suggest another rhino to keep you mobile.
In the short term and long term I would get some more sniper scouts.
If you have not worked it out try to snipe ork nobs from boys squads, else you should be able to pin lootas if they are reduced fair enough in number.
Personally I reckon you will be all right against orks, based mostly on that they have been nerfed and you have been boosted by the latest editions. In particular cover is lessened and rapid fire weapons have improved. Good luck

I'm probably going to save up and get a raider or 2, but the problem is I don't have much money so I can't mix and mash my army. I'm going to have to use what I have and hope my tactics are better than his, but thx for the help.

Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine
|
HQ:
Marneus Calger + 5 honor Guard... 485pts
Aside from Calgar exactly how are these guys kitted out? Is this the box set they had sold? Have not looked at it in a while but I believe these guys all had power weapons and not sure what else.
Space Marine Captain... 115pts
So presumably he has Power Weapon and Storm Bolter based on what you said in your other post. I guess he could join up with one of your tactical squads.
Elites:
5 Terminators... 200pts
So these are presumably your base Termy Squad with 4 terminators with Power Fists and Storm Bolters and a Sergeant with Power Weapon and Storm Bolter.
5 Assault Terminators... 200pts
Sounds like all 5 of these guys have Thunder hammer and Storm Shields.
Troops:
30 Space Marines... 510pts
So these get broken down into 3x 10 man Tactical squads each with a Sergeant but does each squad have a Special Weapon such as Flamer/Melta and does each squad have a Missile Launcher or some other heavy Weapon? Also how are each of the Sergeants in these Tactical squads armed? You may want to consider giving the Sergeants teleport homers just in case you need to Deepstrike the Terminators.
5 Scout Snipers With Sergeant Telion... 125pts
A good base unit, although a squad of 10 would be better. Are they all armed with rifles or is there a Missile Launcher/Heavy Bolter in the squad?
Dedicated Transport: 1 Rhino... 45pts Not sure who is riding in the Rhino but if this is your only Rhino you may as well just leave it at home as it will just die anyways.
Heavy Support:
1 Thunderfire Cannon... 100pts
These got better in 6th edition so this could be a good solid choice.
1 Predator... 130pts
The mix of Lascannons and Heavy Bolters is not optimal for a Predator but it is still a solid tank as far as they go in 40K. As pretty much the only armor you are fielding this will also probably die quickly so keep it in cover as best you can and snipe with it at worthwhile targets.
Fast Attack:
Assault Squad... 100pts
Are these guys just 5 jump pack Chainsword/Bolt Pistol marines or do they have anything like a Powerfist/Power Weapon/Plasma Pistol?
Without knowing exactly how your army is equipped it is a bit difficult to give you advice. Also knowing what your Ork opponent generally brings to the table would likewise be helpful.
You have a basically good start to a relatively static gunline marine army and Calgar and the Assault Terminators do not really fit too well for that sort of list. I would guess your best bet is that the Terminators, Calgar & his Honor Guard and the Assault Terminators could stay back in cover as a counter assault arm and let the rest of your army fire at and whittle down the Orks as best they can. Maybe refuse a flank and try and make the Orks march as far as they have to into the teeth of your army while you gun them down for as long as possible. One of the Ork’s key weaknesses is inability to deal with heavy armor but unfortunately you do not have any of that.
Your Assault Squad is too small to make much of a dent in any decent sized Ork Mob so you will need to choose their target extremely carefully and only pick on a weakened unit. Also be sure to remember the scenario objectives. Too many folks get caught up in just trying to annihilate their opponents and forget what they need to do to win the game.
I think your list can work as it is although not optimal. Eventually if you could add a couple of things to the army while keeping your costs down, I would focus on a unit of devastators and perhaps 5 more sniper scouts and 5 more Assault Marines. I would drop Calgar and friends to free up the points and I would drop the Rhino.

I think you'd be better playing at lower points levels as 2,000 just looks to be a stretch with the models you have.

I've been at points where I couldn't get more models, especially when I just started, and I wish you luck. I agree that you should cap at 1500 with the models you have. If you just started the game, I would recommend playing 750-1000 for a while. Also, what upgrades does the rhino have, as I thought they were 35 points? As to your 2000 list, I would put a teleport homer in the list (though Calgar's terminator armor (I assume you are using this) might have one built in). The assault terminators need a reliable way of getting close, and without a land raider, you will probably have to teleport, and mishapping with a 200 point unit isn't fun. The only warning I have about doing that is that it puts 685 points of your army very close together, so it makes very easy demolisher cannon/high strength low AP pie plate bait (and the assault termies must survive for a turn while doing nothing). For the shooty termies, bitz order a CML if you can, or if you like assault cannons better (though IMO CML is a better choice for vanilla marines) bitz order the pack of 2 metal assault cannons from GW if they still have it. They do look funky though, and if you glued the termies (I'm guessing you have AoBR termies, BTW) you'll have to chop arms off.
The advice to put a ML in the scout squad is good, as if Telion doesn't have anything to shoot at, a BS 6 (IIRC) ML is very nice. For the assault squad, I recommend meltabombs on the assault sgt. Remember to play with what you like, but some things aren't that great of choices (I don't see any dead weight units in your list, and vanilla marines don't seem to have many IMO).
Lastly, marines with bolters can be used as Sternguard, who are cool, especially in a pod
