Here's my combined blood angel and imperial guard army. Strategy is to have the guards holding the flanks and capturing objectives while the assaults charge up and the devs provided fire support. Any recommendations or critizisms would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Primary Army
HQ
-Librarian + Jump pack, Sanguine Sword & Shield of Sanguinius = 125 pts
-Librarian + Jump pack, Shield of Sanguinius & Unleash Rage = 125 pts

Elites
- 3 Sanguinary Priests + 3 Jump packs = 75 pts per

Troops
- 10 man Assault Squad + Powerfist + 2 Meltas = 235 pts
- 10 man Assault Squad + Powerfist + 2 Meltas = 235 pts
- 10 man Assault Squad + Powerfist + 2 Meltas = 235 pts

Heavy Support
-Devastator Squad + 4 Missile Launchers = 130 pts
-Devastator Squad + 4 Missile Launchers = 130 pts
-Devastator Squad + 4 Lascannons = 190 pts

Allied Army
HQ
-Company Command Squad + Vox-caster = 55 pts

Troops
-Platoon Command Squad + Vox-caster = 35 pts
-20 man Infantry Squad + 1 Commissar + 1 mortar = 140 pts
-20 man Infantry Squad + 1 Commissar + 1 mortar = 140 pts

= 2000 pts

I like the looks of this, but for 2000 pts I feel like the 3rd priest would be better-used elsewhere, because the bubble benefits multiple units and it doesn't help Guard. That frees up 75 points with which you have a few options opened, but it's up to you. I mean, the priests can still be useful, but they aren't absolutely necessary for the entire forward assault group (unless you're planning on leaving one with devs but...well, that might work but I have a feeling those guys might get hit with the heavier stuff anyways)

At 2000 pts you should syart with the 6 dev. squads lists.

I would drop a jump from your priests to leave with dev. squads.
Then maybe give them a ADL.

Sniper squad with camocloaks and 2 dev, squads would be better than the IG.

The IG should have one blob squad, then give then an IC marine, a priest would work well, as it gives FNP to the dev. squad, else maybe a chaplain for fearless. This completely boosts the squad and gives them a role in life.

Give the new ADL a quad gun to shoot down aeroplanes as you can not.

What is with me seeing mortars popping up in lists. My mortars are slowing drowning in dust in my bits bin. ACs and LCs all the way possibly some missiles if you know you up against heavy air support.

Drop those Voxes and grab Flame/ GL / or Sniper for real. One Commissar in a 40 man HW Blob will hold any position for at least 4 - 5 turns while taking a pounding. The Platoon Command Squad is a scoring troop unit though it is whimpy. If you find the points give them GL / SR to make them better.

If you want cheap Fire Support just grab HW teams from the Platoon choice. It is a ton cheaper. the guns are just as strong but the units are squishier. If you can manage it 10 wounds with an Infnatry squad with a HW is better than just the team itself and it's a scoring unit.

Interesting, Unfortunaly I don't know that much about IG tactics so any advice would be great and I had no idea a Platoon Command Squad was a scouring unit so the 40 man blob sounds great, thanks.

I would love to do this, to think of having 6 devestators, but unfortunately due to the allies force chart I can only take one devestator squad.

If you are taking lLascannons, think about putting one in each Dev squad. It's a nice utility to be able to Signum the lascannon dudes.

And I think what MFletch was suggesting was to use Dual FOC as opposed to Allies.

Whoa whoa whoa, you can do that, have 2 FOC's in one army.... HOLY S**T I never new that. Where does it say that, is it in 6th edition, are there any limits on it???

However, if you're planning a 2K list, you should probably consider it 1999+1 (or even just 1999) and plan for a single force org chart.

Yeah, that's an annoying possibility about 2000 pts. If I go in with 1999 points and I get TFG who tells me that now my FOC needs to be adjusted, especially in casual play, I swear I'll punch something.

What do you mean? Most events should say they're either allowing 2 FOC or 1... if you were a point shy, just add a searchlight

So should I stick with only one FOC (because frankly i have never seen 2 FOC's used in one army) or should I start thinking about making a 2 FOC list? And remmember this list is for both fun play and competative play

It talks about in the FOC section of the rulebook. Sorry I don't have it on hand now so I can't give you a page number. Look for Force Organization in the Index.

I would recommend sticking to one FOC for 2000 pts. There is a chance that a tournament will disallow dual-FOC, but even if they allow it you can still use your single-FOC list.

Besides, I wouldn't even want to think about funding MLs for six squads of Devs.
