Ok so I'm still playing with the points but I know I can get this into 1850. Mainly I'm interested in thoughts on the army as a concept. My idea is 6th has made c:sm a really good mid to long range shooting army. I'd love comments on the composition as whole and on individual load outs. I'll give me reasons for each choice as well and would love to hear any comments on the truth/falsehood of my reasoning. Ok here's the list:

HQ
Lysander ( will go with the sterngaurd in the pod. Twinlinking stern is rediculously good both normaly and for overwatch. he can absorb wounds with his 2+/3+ and is no slouch in cc to deter charges/allow the to get relatively close without suicide).
Libby w/terminator armor ss, null-zone and gate. ( will go with the termis and probably gate them near where the sterngaurd go to create a 24" death circle)

Elites
7 sterngaurd w/4 combi plasmas In a drop pod (With Lysander they will drop any meq unit within 24" will die and With the plasma can handle some teq enemies and glance light vehicles to death)
5 normal termis cyclone ml (puts out a lot of shots will get near sterngaurd to help protect them, overall much better now that most pw aren't ap 2)

Troops
2x Tac squad ml/flamer rhino (mobile objective holders)
Scout squad snipers telion ( home objective scores will man the aegis defense line with telion at the quad gun, bs6 twins inked precision shots yay!)

Fast
Stormtalon w typhoon ml (anti flier + decent ranged killer)
2x attack bikes w/ mm (one squad cracking any vehicle I need dead)
Heavy
Dakka pred
Dakka pred (Cheap long range anti-hoard shooting, can still effectively glance light armor to death, with big guns never tire definetly need things in the heavy slot)

Fortification
Aegis defense line w/ quad gun (anti flier Plus can give my scouts a 3+ or 2+ coversave depending on load out)

Thoughts?

Looks good. You seem to have all your bases covered. If you want to ensure your terminators joining up with the sternguard, you might want to consider a locater beacon.

I like assault cannons on my tac terminators. They fit the same profile as the storm bolters, just better. I dislike firing one weapon from the squad while the rest are useless. With the cyclone, I'd be tempted to drop Kracks at tanks, and not be removing squads from the table with massed fire.

I prefer speeders for MM delivery, but I think the changes in 6th might have made attack bikes better. They both get a jink save, but a Krack missile will no longer ID the bike.
On the flip side, the speeder could deep strike in to where your pod drops to give AT support. With a long table deployment, it might take too long for the bikes to get there.

I think auto/las preds are worth the points for the upgrade. I tend to see more mech then hordes. 6th might change the meta enough towards footsloging to change that, time will tell. In the end, both are well worth fielding.

Lysander is not so great as you lose combat tactics, which has improved.
TL normal fire is not that much of improvement, TL snap fire is great apart from it still will not mean much.
Then sternguard will not always be using their bolters.

I would have 10 sternguard in a drop pod. Then you combat squad into two squads. Personally I like 8 combimeltas and 2 heavy flamers, this means you have a couple of ways to combat squad and you have plenty of shots to take out tanks. Most infantry will be shot down with their bolters, so the combiplasmas are not worth it. Heavy flamers are really useful due to overwatch and generally killing infantry, it is so easy to move away from drop pod to get the template in position now.

Gate is not so reliable, I would take assault cannon with termies as if you gate you should be in range, it is a lovely gun.

I would bring 9 snipers with camo cloak and Telion, just checking the set up.

You would destroy an enemies single stormtalon as they came on, I would bring 3 or just bring more nice attack bikes.

If you want some curve ball suggestions:
Belial+deathwing termies instead of Lysander and the termies, the librarian can deathwing assault with them

Swap a tactical squad for grey hunters. Then lysander for 2 rune priests.

@mflech, interesting suggestions but I want to keep it pure c:sm. about the sterngaurd I've run the numbers and IMO Lysander twin linking will make that unit will pretty much kill any meq unit within 24" in 2 turns or less depending on size and distance.

I Agee tha more stormtalons would be nice for redundancy but it's hard to have the points, also I think 1 quad gun just isn't enough anti-air (when flak comes out maybe I will feel different).

OK, your 7 sternguard will get 1/3 more hits due to Lysander, compare this to 10 sternguard which will get even more than a 1/3 more hits. This just based on firing their bolter though.
