Team a - Mephiston
Team b - tactical squad.
Mephiston charges tactical squad and challenges the sargent, who accepts. Now, do the rest of the tactical squad get to pile in?

Who would they pile in to? There is no one for them to pile-in and attack, so they just stand there cheering on the sarge (as Mephiston slaughters him).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Yes. They have to. And then the sarge gets the bonus for having his mates cheer him on.

There is no one for them to hit, but Mephiston is right there.

Well in this instance it's the difference between holding an objective and not holding an objective. Automatically Appended Next Post: Purifier wrote:

That's my interpritation. If their sargent is in a duel, they're going to be crowding around the enemy just in case he does kill the sarge.

They still pile in, but cant then hit anyone.
Nothing about the challenge rules removes the mephy model from existence, so it is still an enemy model they are compelled o move towards.
