Subject: How do I know if a Resin Model is faulty?

I bought a Succubus Resin model and the model has a lot of flaws...
Such as the detail is not clear, the swirls on her shoulder pad is all smudged etc...
Also parts of her hair is missing and her agonizer has a crevice through the middle...
Compared to the Archon and Incubi that I got the Succi looks very ugly...
I have no idea how to fix it...tried putting glue on it but it won't work...
And how would I tell GW if it is?

If you bought something - and you are not satisfied with it...it is faulty.
Not sure if you got it from a local store, online store or GW direct - but either take it back to the store and exchange it or get on the phone with GW.
For all their faults, they generally will replace models with minimal fuss.

I haven't seen a finecast model in my local GW store that DOESN'T have bubbles which obscure details so by my definition they're all faulty (even giving them the benefit of the doubt that there might be bubbles on undetailed areas).
As such the only finecast models I've bought are ones I need for my army (opposed to buying models just for the sake of painting like I normally do).

Welp, they made liquid green stuff just to fix their super quality finecast!
If it's more then smearing some greenstuff/glue to fix, send it back.

I guess the Succubus is pretty crappy then...I'll send them an email and see what to do...
btw, my Archon and Incubi Finecast looks pretty nice the details are so well printed and there aren't that many needed to be cleaned up...
I see where finecast could be really good but only if they lowered the price and not raising it...

Do not email; phone them. Not sure about Canada, but in the UK the email support team have a massive backlog.
There was something like a 70-odd page thread with many many photos of what you might expect from Finecast. It is an appalling method of producing miniatures.

It is faulty if you cannot fix it and make it look decent. Otherwise leave the poor customer service department alone.

They charge a premium price, I expect to get my moneys worth. For resin that means no voids...no mold shifts. Otherwise, I could get them from a Chinese recaster fractional prices.

If it's finecast, it probably is.
If it's Forgeworld, it probably will be (note to FW: when shipping goods that can break by bouncing around against each other inside the box, SOME KIND OF VOIDFILL is a good idea.).
General rule - if it liooks like it is, it probably is faulty.
When it comes to "resin", GW couldn't organise an orgy in a brothel.

With enough time and some greenstuff you could pretty much fix any casting flaw, so that's really not a good measure. If I have to spend an hour or more resculpting details and filling holes on a model that I paid a huge premium to buy (if you think you have it bad, in Australia we pay $41 for something as simple as a finecast Zoanthrope or Broodlord!!!) then I consider it faulty... however that describes all the models in my local GW so I don't know what they intend to replace it with unless they have a box of less crappy models under the counter or something.
I keep hoping I'll walk into GW and see they fixed the problem and all the models won't be flawed, because I actually like the detail and lightness of finecast models, but until that happens I'm avoiding paying such a premium to fix THEIR flaws.
