Drop one of the infantry squads for heavy weapons. You need additional long range firepower because a good opponent will simply destroy your handful of terminators from range.

Deathwing is such an Elite army that everything around it needs to work with it to maximize their effectiveness.

So get some fire support teams and go to work.

All squads should have CML
Your land raider will stop you from firing a CML but also it is the target for an entire armies antitank guns.

I would bring an ADL with quadgun. This provides antiflyer but also gives cover for your guard, who I assume should be providing covering fire.
Then if you are using a blob I would find a DA character to join them, as he'll boost amazingly well.
Now I am meant to say Azrael as that would be funny.

Medipack, Platoon Standard, Vox-Caster I dislike.
Then grenades may be useful but just find points for heavy weapon teams, plus they really ought to an ADL to get some cover.

I would bring Marbo because he is cool.

The ADL is a good idea and i'll try to find the points for it, my problem though is that I was mainly just going to use the IG squads as objective holders. I'll see if I can get a heavy weapons team in aswell.

Do you guys think the land raider is worth it as it'll jst be targetted straight away

How will a Land Raider keep a Cyclone from being fired?

I was mainly just going to use the land raider so that I can get one squad of termies right into the battle ASAP and probably drop them ont turn1 anyway. I had been planning to put belial and his squad in it aswell, which has an AC not a CML

Your IG platoon as it stands adds nothing to your list. Those guardsmen won't be effective objective grabbers because: 1) they're on foot, and 2) the minute they step out of cover they will get vaporized by almost anything that can shoot. If you want to take IG as allies for objective grabbing, you would be better served by giving the squads chimeras, and maybe going with vets over a platoon.

Your platoon command squad has a lot of wasted points. The standard and medi-kit are pretty pointless. I'd drop the voxes on all of the squads.

You really need some more firepower. So that means either heavy weapons in platoon squads sitting behind that ADL, or special weapons on mounted vets.

How about something like this for your allied IG detachment? It comes in at 9 points less than your current list and packs a lot more power and mobility at the expense of fewer bodies.

Primaris
2x Melta vet squads (3x meltas)
1 dedicated chimera for one melta squad
1 Vendetta with HB sponsons

The idea of less bodies makes me very happy.
The update thing seems pretty good too, would the vendatta be used more to transport or for other purposes (or both), sorry, i'm shoking at playing IG and badly need practice

The HB on the Vendetta is over kill. You are going to use that to kill heavies and It will Swoop in Shoot. Swoop again maybe shoot or leave / repeat.

Mobile Melta Vets are Ok. You could take some HW vets with AC's and have them walk on foot or be dropped onto a objective and hold it with the AC.

Also you can take s Storm Trooper Squad. They are an elite pick and they DS/Infiltrate in with 2 Melta/Plasma. They also have AP 3 rapid fire regular weapons. They can be picked in groups of 5-10. They can also choose a Valkire as a DT.

So here are 2 Options

#1
Psyker
Vendetta

2 Vets with AC in Chimera (possible Snipers).

Chimera Drop vets off on Objectives then they try to crash into the nearest enemy.

#2

Psyker
Vendetta

1 Vets with AC in Chimera (possible Snipers)
Chimera Drop vets off on Objective then they try to crash into the nearest enemy

+1 Storm Trooper squad with plasma/melta DS/infiltrate shoot some MEQ's or kill a tank

Your right about the vendatta and as im going to be using the vets to hold objectives. I've used those points to get an autocannon team in the vets instead. I dunno about the storm troopers though. They don't really fit with what I am using the guard for... holding objectives

How is it now?
