1:48 would technically be closest (a grid of around 1mm), but even GW themselves obviously just use whatever's available - some stompa bits use a much larger scale pattern which in real life would be almost worthless in providing a grip on a metal surface(the whole point of diamond plate).

I just got in some 1:24 and it seems fine, about 4 sets of diamond under each foot. It's Jett double diamond plate, g scale
