So, after a couple of games of 6th using allies, I've come to like this list a lot.

Main force: Deathwing
HQ
Belial, TH/SS - 130

Deathwing Terminator Squad (TH/SS) - 215
Deathwing Terminator Squad, CML (Tactical loadout) - 235

Guard
HQ
Lord Commissar - 70

Troops
10 Veterans, Chimera, 3 Meltaguns - 155

Leman Russ Demolisher, Plasma Cannons - 205

Comes to 947 points. So, turns out I was playing under points. The questions are:
Was this actually legal (first couple of games of 6th, so neither me nor my opponent were sure if it was correct; after looking through the rulebook we thought it was.)
Where would you go to, say 2000 points? More Leman Russ and Terminators were my thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes as far as I can see it is legal.
2.MOAR TERMINATORS (they are never a bad thing (i'd say a 1:1 TH:SS/tactical rotation.)
3. Aegis line with Heavy weapons squads heavy firepower to take down fliers or high priority targets. (Alternatively 5 devastators with ML's work well too.)
4. A librarian

8000 Dark Angels (No primaris)
10000 Lizardmen (Fantasy I miss you)
3000 High Elves
4000 Kel'shan Ta'u

Hydra is probably in. More termies definitely, I was unlucky in that Belial and the TH/SS unit were mishapped over to my side of the board and had to walk.

Footslogging termies is not a problem.
You want a CML in every termy squad, then mostly SS/TH.
Then the apothecary and banner are excellent upgrades.

Do you mind swapping over IG and DA.
I would go heavy mech, so I would want three units of leman russes or something like that.

Anyway I would say the weakness of deathwing is no antiflyer threat, lack of mobility, not enough long range firepower for what should be a gunline.
So hydras and your aeroplanes would be a good idea.

No problem switching over guard and DW. Heavy mech is my favoured way to play guard fortunately.
