Hello this is my first list after a few games in 6th and i would like some criteques
the list is more geared for a friend of mine who likes to play necrons (who i have yet to beat)
he tends to run alot of annihilation barge and a bunch of diffrent crypteks, switching diffrent tactics every time i play

in any case here is the list (REVISED)

HQ Shas'el : AFP OR PR, MP, TA, HW-BSF, HW-MT, HW-DC, 2X SD

6 FIREWARRIOR X 2

5 PATHFINDER
DEVIL FISH +1 SEEKER

FIREKNIFE : PR, MP, TA, HW-BSF, HW-MT
DEATHRAIN : TL-MP, FL
DEATHRAIN : TL-MP, FL

BROADSIDE : A.S.S HW-BSF

BROADSIDE : A.S.S HW-BSF

should hit snug at 750 pts

the concept was that i could pick off targets with the seprate broadside squads (as we lost target locks) and useing the pathfinder marker lights to remove jink saves (cover saves, i think that works no?)
while deepstriking the stealth suits behind vehicles and what not for rear armor and contesting points

im not sure how well this list may work but any help against the necrons will help.

EDIT: let me know what ya think. the points were getting snug so i couldnt run FK instead of DR but im open to move things around

By my count you have 7 points spare. The blacksun filters on the fire warriors are worthless unless he has imotek, which is unlikely at 750. A turn of night fight is not as bad anymore and the units that need it have night vision.

I would drop a blacksun filter on one of the FW teams to give the blacksun filter 'ui a markerlight.

I disagree with the markerlight on the 'ui. You want firewarriors to be mobile and a markerlight will be wasted while your on the move.

Also, you might be better off with crisis suits instead of stealth suits. While you get the bonus cover saves, you could get 3 crisis suits (almost 4) for the price of your 2 squads. It would have a smaller footprint and have the benefit of being 3 targets instead of 2. You have enough points for some flexible builds like helios (which will eat up 'chrons) and deathrain (which will help with light or rear armor).

I personally dislike the CIB. It has negligible beneifts and the extra points are useful at 750. I feel like you need your commander to be a little more specialized. If you want him doing long range engagement, consider fireknife or just deathrain. If you want him up close, consider bladestorm (PR BC) or helios (PR FB). As it is, you're likely going to waste the CIB when firing at a safe range or at an armored target. Likewise the MP is equally effective at 36" as 1" so keep them as far away as you can.

These are just some thoughts. I'd also use any extra points to beef up the fire warrior squad size. I prefer 8. Good hunting.

thanks for the advice

i feel the same way for the CIB although i just tossed it on there i may switch it to a death rain

as for the stealth suits i figured it would be fine as most of his barges are rear armor 11 with no quantum sheilding, that way burst cannons could atleast glance on a 6. but i could see how a crisis suit would do the same thing so ima try to reevaluate my list then edit the original post

thanks

You... need... Kroot. Without them you won't win, as they are your only close combat option. Also, a few hammerheads are always your best mode of transport

Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Biatches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.

after a few games with them i find them to be pretty much usless
they always explode to overwatch against necrons (also only 1 forest terrain piece at my local store )

also at 750 my points are already limited (iv tryed to include atleast 1 but i find that i wiff most of my rolls [its why i like broad sides better for there twin linkage])

EDIT: also what is the current consensus on the positional relay?
with my friend playing mostly barges /archs spam and flying circus deathmarks (but no flyers yet) i need a very consitant way ot dealing with long range av13 or deepstrike wound on a 2+ template fun.

i found that hammerheads are out, broadsides are in

but what i want to try is deepstriking behind for some unquantem shielded av11 rear armor and ninja contesting objectives

any advise would be great

You could try swapping the CIB for an AFP. It could proof useful for "sniping" out the cryptek in squads.

Umm... just avoid CC. Also, hammerheads aren't transport. Anyway I am deathly afraid that you lack scoring units. Please add more Firewarriors so I can breathe again.

At such a low points, I would see much more use out of crisis suits than stealth suits. This would also possibly free up some points for more firewarriors or kroot (scoring units are in short supply on your list).

Also, kroot shouldn't be assaulting, they should be protecting you from assaults. Acting as bubble wrap to your critical units, making it so they have to go through them to get to your more potent bits.

The scorings units is very low on my list that is for sure

but the way my games tend to play out is that ether very big and hard things to kill come my way or deep strike in by passing much of the defence.

in 6th however im mainly focusing on #1 getting first blood so broadsides are staying (also made them sepreate units because of the loss of Target locks and for cross fire)
and otherwise once i remove the main threat i can move in with dfish protected fire warriors and grab points in turn 4-5

but that was just the tactic iv been used to.

i also revised the op with new list.

Remember that you can't claim an objective anymore from inside a dfish so your warriors will have to get out and face the big bad world. Just a thought.
