I have been playing warhammer 40k for almost 3 mounths. So far, everytime i play is against orks. I lose a lot. Here is my current list

HQ:
Daemon prince with wings, mark of tzeentch, and bolt of change
175 points

Infantry:
10 csm, one with flamer, heavy bolter, and one is an AC, with PF and PP
220 points

10 CSM, one with Plasma gun, heavy flamer, and one AC, with PF and PP
230 points

10 CSM, one with flamer and missile launcher, one AC with PF and PP
220 points

7 plague marines, one with plasma gun and one PC with PF and PP
231 points

8 khorne berzerkers, two with PP, one SC with PF and PP
253points

Vehicles:

Predator, lascanon and lascaonon side sponsons

Firstly, welcome to Dakka, Lax!

Hmm... looking at your army list it sounds like it should be capable of pounding most greenskin into the ground. I guess the questions I have for you are:

1. Do you play against the same ork player each time?
2. How long has your opponent been playing 40k (are they a grizzled veteran or noob like yourself)?
3. What does the ork army list look like?
4. Are you using the same tactics each time?
5. Are you finding it difficult to counter the orks' tactics when it comes to your opponent targeting specific units/characters/daemons?

There are so many things to take into account. Since you've only been playing for 3 months, you have plenty of time to develop your own tactics in the coming months and years. A very basic rule is to look to exploit your opponent's weaknesses and try to protect your own weak areas.

Have a look through the Dakka 40k tactics threads and I'm sure you'll find plenty of valuable advice.

Oh tricky scince orks are in big groups normally .

Take a Land Raider Orks stuggle with armour 14 (mind power Klaws Etc)

For the Berzerkers, drop the PPs. All of 'em and just say that none are actually armed with them.

Plasma Guns are always very effective. Take a bunch of em.

MOT isn't that good really, try Slaanesh and Lash.

There's a new codex coming out in a couple of days, so this advice probs is going to be irrelevant soon. But have fun and welcome to Dakka!
