As there has been flame wars over Hyperphase swords it begs the question:

What do you do when there are more than 1 set of rules that are current and there are 2 different rules?

Lets use a hypothetical to avoid reheating old ground:
They come out with a digital Codex for Space Wolves. It makes Runic Weapons use the Psychic Hood rules from 6th, but they have a range of 24".

They do not update this new rule in the FAQ online. [Necon FAQ hasn't been updated yet for HPS]

Now I know not a lot of people will have the Digital Codex with the new rule. (I won't as I have a Galaxy Tab.)

If your opponent has the paper Codex, do you use the rules in his Codex?
What if you have the Digital one to show him?
What if you liked the old Paper Codex version better and just count on people not knowing about the Digital Codex change?

I don't like having 2 sets of completely legal rules that are different. If the FAQ was kept up to date and a new one was issued when you could get the Digital Codex is wouldn’t be a big deal.

The most recent publication. Just like the never mentioned the changes between print runs in Codex: Orks (Warbiker wounds) or the old necron codex(Living Metal).

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I could agree with that if the digital codex was more available. Its not like I could go to the shelf in the GW store I play in and just double check the rule.

So the question stands. If I am playing with an army and I DON'T have a digital codex and the rules are different in the digital version how to I show them to my opponent?

sometimes I do not understand GW. Do they not pay them enough money to hire somebody who actualy plays the game?

Which is why I have been bitching for years that GW never ever puts a date on any of their rules or codecies.

Seriously. It's almost like they want us to argue with each other all the time.
