Just had a quick though as far as a new necron character goes, let me know what you think and give me some feedback! The idea was to create a Necron character who is essentially leading massive swarms of scarabs across the field in an unstoppable wave (fluff wise, not rules wise) Xerxius, the Scarab Lord Points: 170 WS 4 BS 4 Str 5 T 5 A 3 W 3 I 2 LD 10 Wargear Warscythe Mindshackle Scarabs Phylactery Sempiternal Weave Special Rules Lord of Scarabs Xerxius has a unit type of Beast (Independent Character). Additionally, when attempting to reallocate a wound from Xerxius to a Canoptek Scarab Swarm, you can re-roll the Look Out Sir roll. Swarm them! Any unit of Canoptek Scarab Swarms joined to Xerxius have Furious Charge and It Will Not Die.

Instead of your current Lord of Scarabs and Swarm Them! rules, I propose the following:
Lord of Scarabs
Xerxius has a unit type of Beast (Independent Character).
Special rules don't have to be weird to be be useful.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Those do seem to be more streamlined towards the main rules. As far as points cost goes, does that seem about right (regardless of the wording of the special rules?)

I like it. You won't get much commentary on reasonable and balanced stuff. Consider it a badge of honor.

^has a good point in regards to low comments=good. Its when Blacksails or DarknessEternal show up and smack you round the head with the common sense bat that you know you have done a bad bad thing. And even then its fixable if you are flexible.
OT: I like the rules, more-so with the modifications in the first reply.

I'd actually like this guy to be a real guy so I could play with him even. A Scarab lord seems neat.

Thats kinda why I got the creative juices flowing on this one, its a different flavor for an army that is rather vanilla in most regards.
I gotcha on the comments though, thanks!
I've gone ahead and modified the original post to reflect the suggestions
