Hey everyone, always wanted to play marines for the T4 and the cool looking armour. I've created my own colour sceme and have everything from this army list save the drop pods. Just wondering what you guys think of the lists and if you recommend me taking other methods of transport or keeping the drop pods. Anyway, just check out the list and let me know what you think.

HQ

Space Marine Captain 155pts
- Relic Blade
- Storm Shield
- Digital Weapons

Command Squad 160pts
- Company Standard
- Company Champion
- Flamer
- Meltagun

TROOPS

10 Man Tac Squad 215pts
- Meltagun
- Multi-Melta
- Melta Bomb
DROP POD

10 Man Tac Squad 215pts
- Flamer
- Multi-Melta
- Melta Bomb
DROP POD

10 Man Tac Squad 225pts
- Meltagun
- Multi-Melta
- Melta Bomb
DROP POD
- Locator Beacon

HEAVY SUPPORT

Thunderfire Cannon 100pts

5 Man Devestator Squad 190pts
- 4 Plasma Cannons

Land Raider Redeemer 255pts
- Extra Armour

Drop unit with Flamer and drop unit with Melta, or just 2 meltas, come down and take out anti tank. Command squad hides in land raider until drop pods come down, or doesn't hide at all if I have 1st turn. Pumping out 8 small blasts a turn with heavy support for AI and have AT in stationary combat squads and light AT with Plasma Cannons.

Let me know what you guys think!!!

Thanks,
Tankey

With all these meltas and flamers, I'm surprised you didn't take Vulkan.

Hmm that's a good point actually. I tend to stay away from special characters though. Theoretically, where would I get the points?

Well, Vulkan can't take a Command Squad, so you'd have to drop the Command Squad as well.

You'd then have 125pts to work with for other stuff, if you decided to take Vulkan.

Could drop the Extra Armour (which is kind of worthless this edition) and those melta bombs if you go the Vulkan route. Since Vulkan makes all of your melta weapons twin linked, there won't be very many tanks left for you to use your melta bombs on.

That'd give you a 155pts. I like Librarians, I don't know how you feel about Librarians. 155pts can get you a Sniper Scout Squad w/ Missile Launcher, if you wanted. A kitted out Dreadnought. A 5man Sternguard Squad with Combi Meltas?

Could get you an Ironclad, but you'd need to find another 15pts to drop to give it a drop pod, too.

Could get you a pair of Land Speeders with MMs + HFs.

Also can get you a well kitted out Stormtalon, which will come in turn 1 with your Drop Pods.

All depends how attached you are to the Captain/Command Squad route! :O

Alrighty sounds like a good idea!

I'm not that attached they just look super cool! I've kitted out the shoulder pads with death company and mentors shoulder pads for all my marines, so I won't miss them TOO much hahaha.

Now to come up with a proxy for Vulkan...

Storm talon would be a good idea I think, coming on with the drop pods.

Thanks matey,
Tankey.

I second Crazyterran, his suggestions dramatically improve the list. Always hate when beautiful models then out to be less useful.:(

For the greater glory of the Zoat Empire!
