Ok what people forget to realize, Codex:GK is also full of inquisition elements, in case in the particular, an Ordos xenos inquisitor ( one of whom just so happens to have a Necron teserect). Inquisitor Valeria in fact has a direct connection to Tarzyn (trading men for tech). So think of it this way, BB with GK just means with certain elements of the inquisition.

I'm fairly sure Inquisitor Valeria sent those men to invade Tarzyns museum, not to trade them for the Teserect

in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun

She traded with Tarzyn for some Necron tech, in exchange he asked for some regiments of catchan for one of his new pieces for his museum, and if IIRC, he gave her the Teserect as the trade off. Just to troll her I presume

I think that's taking Tarzyn's letter to Valeria a wee bit too literally.

Follow these two simple rules to ensure a happy Dakka experience:

Rule 1 - to be a proper 40K player you must cry whenever a new edition of the game is released, and always call opposing armies broken when you don't win.

Rule 2 - Games Workshop are always wrong and have been heading for bankrupcy within 5 years since the early 90s.

Im fairly sure its the other way round, The Inquisitor sent in regiments to destroy the museum, and Tarzyn misinterprited the gesture as a gift, instead of an invading force.
In return for the "gift" Tarzyn sent Valeria a Teseract, which nearly consumed her

on the forum. Obviously

Yeah, people keep misinterpreting the fluff.
Which is why we get such marvelously stupid memes such as the necron/BA fist bump -_-

I'm pretty sure the GK codex makes reference to an entire vault of Tesseract Labyrinths. It mentions that relations with the makers of the tesseracts have deteriorated, however.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

on the forum. Obviously

It actually kinda makes sense that they are allies of convience.
They both hate demons after all. The GK were created to purge demons from the material universe, and the Necrons want to (at least in the old fluff) separate the material world from the warp to stop demonic incursions altogether.
Are they BFF? Hell no! The necrons are still xeno, and as such are hated by the Imperium. Much like the the Eldar however, they still have their uses...though the Imperium distrusts the Necrons more.

So you're saying they should be Desperate Allies?

Let's face it, some of those combinations just don't make a whole lotta sense when keeping the fluff in mind.

on the forum. Obviously

Yeah, that's just wierd. Why are they battle brothers?
And yes, the IoM should be desparate allies with the Necrons.
I do see why they made GK Allies of Convience though, considering how they have similar goals.
That, and the fact Necrons don't use demons or psykers, meaning that the GK won't have to worry about them going all Chaotic anyway.

Some Throne-Forsaken Battlefield on the other side of the Galaxy

Necrons should be desperate allies with all the Imperium armies. Even though Valeria and Trazyn have some contact, that does not mean that GK and Necrons frequently fight together. Also, even if they did, the GKs do not get along with Necrons as well as they do with the rest of the Imperium.

I think it would have been better to simply make them grudging allies and leave a rule like "Because their years of experience allow them to manipulate the alien, If Valeria or any other ordo xenos inquistor is chosen, units from codexes [insert all xenos codecis] can all be taken as allies of convenience.

You summed it up perfectly. Plus, necrons have no presence in the Warp.
