I know it's probably been discussed but I've seen a glaring weakness in the blood angels but I see allies as a quick fix. I know everyone is thinking about wolves and guard but which do you feel would honestly help the blood angels most? I'm kind of leaning towards a DOA list with guardsmen holding objectives. I also thought about wolves for the same reason with a rune priest (I think that's what he is) with 2 squads of long fangs to help with hordes while a couple of storm ravens and jump troops hold off the front line cleaving through whatever comes at them.

I'm really new to marines coming from playing orks so this is gonna be weird talking about MEQ. If you guys have any tips or tricks to help me I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Also, I thought about death wing? Belial and a few termies as tough objective holders? But I kind of feel like this is an expensive solution to the problem...

I personally suspect Eldar will be a good choice for an ally, mainly because they can provide the best possible psyker defense. I would hold off on any purchases, though, because I want to see what the new Dark Angels codex will bring first. Terminators are really good at the moment, and flyers are a real potential problem unless we're talking about a Stormraven list, so I'd probably go with them if they have either some solid anti-flyer options or better than typical psyker defense.

Maybe if you aren't planning on bringing any BA psykers anyway so you don't have any accidental suicides.

I can't believe I forgot about the RoW affecting BA Librarians. Still worth considering, though.

Well, I thought the dark angels just because blood angels like a hard hitting scoring unit that's tough but I like the eldar for some back line shooting...I also considered tau for the very same reason but I dunno. The blood angels are strong but with the assault changes it feels like the whole army got nerf'd. I could also take half of a logan wing and use them as scoring or have long fangs for back line shooting? I think an aegis is going to benefit anyone's allies GREATLY....eldar look good too but how would you take them? What would you take of them? A generic HQ and some pathfinders? Would a rune priest with some long fangs offer decent fire support with objective camping and if someone comes near you JOTWW them?

I'd take the Farseer, probably with a cheap power used to take 1 Divination Power, a unit of Guardian Jetbikes for late game objective grabbing, and then something to stick the Farseer in, either Pathfinders or Guardians.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure whether the Runes of Warding work if the Farseer isn't on the table (or dead). I can't find anything in the main rules that state that a model can never affect the battle if it's in reserves (there is a rule that prevents powers used at the start of the turn from being used by an entering unit, but that isn't how the Runes work), and the rule for the Runes just states that enemy psykers roll an extra die for psychic tests. To me, that means RAW is that the Runes are in effect for the whole battle no matter what, but it seems fishy and I feel like I must be missing something.

If you want to go jump packers, I think I would be tempted by vanilla biker army. It will be quick and nimble, fitting into guerilla tactics of your jump packers, you can take priests on bikes as it will be safer place for the priest and you can get them within 6'', also BA attack bikes would fit. Getting in antiflyer may be an issue.

I think rune priests are worth having. So grey hunters manning a quad gun behind an ADL, with longfangs and 3 BA dev. squads. Whilst having a rune priest with a jump pack running up with your assault marines.
Then either wolfpriest outflanking some grey hunters, another rune priest giving some squad a boost, or maybe a wolf priest giving the long fangs preferred enemy, stealth and fearless.

Guard could work with jump packers but probably not in the way you want your allies to work.

I know that the "blood rodeo" build is going to be a decent one to look into. It's a full 2k points though and I don't really know where to draw the line =/ I like the idea of deathwing they're just SOO expensive though. Wolves and guard about the best options imo. I like the idea of the quad gun with some wolves firing. I saw what a vindicator can do today and adding in 2-3 of them is just NASTY so I may try for a hybrid list and see what happens. Just picked up brother corbulo on ebay so he'll probably make a showing at some point XD
