I'm thinking of taking my eagle-covered tanks to a tournament. Here are said eagles: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/424022.page

Would mephiston work well as an HQ to support the vehicles? He provides the list with some close assault, as well as being pretty tough. My thinking was that between him and the tanks, people would struggle to muster the high strength shots needed to gun me down.

I know razorbacks took a heavy hit in this edition, but I've still found them to be fairly effective when run behind walls of AV13 and sniping with their lascannons.

One option would be to sub out a Baal for another vindicator or Auto/las predator, but the loss of anti infantry firepower would probably hurt me a lot.

Ideas would be much appreciated, but I'd like to keep Mephiston as my eagle conversion is the centrepiece of my list! Allies / fortifications aren't out of the question too.

I think you're fairly light on troops, especially now that vehicles and units in vehicles can't score or deny objectives.

Yes, Mephiston works well with tanks. They can provide a lot of mobile cover for him if needed.

Think about dropping all your Predators for a second Vindicator and more Razorbacks.

So the general consensus is more razorbacks? They do die a lot more easily now, you know! Not sure how to get more troops without adding more of them. Are three really not enough? I don't generally play rushing them forward until the last couple of turns. They hang around the back and hit anyone who invades my deployment zone with double melta shots.

Eh i dont really agree with the general concencus i think t would work well just like you have it i dont think you need anymore troops i mean what do you plan on doing with them marching tem straight into your enemy? just keep em in the transports and shoot stuff until the vehicle dies or you have to getr out turn 5 to get a objective.
