I managed to finish my Skulls of the Archangel Honor Guard squad.

First up, one of the marines armed with Lightning Claws.

Next up, my Sanguinary Noviate.

Next, my Chapter Champion.

A Plasma Rifle Equipped Marine.

And my Chapter Banner bearer.

Thank you. I am really happy with how they came out, and I am really glad that my fiance "twisted my arm" into getting some Space Marines when my local store didn't have any IG Sentinals.

I do like your work and paint scheme. My only complaint is that they look a bit too... Clean. But other than that they are pretty good.

1600 points of red goodness!

Really nice and clean! Just remember your mold lines next time.

The bane of having a good camera and proper lighting. Most of the models don't have mold lines where you'd expect them, the plasma gun for example is clean even on the coils ontop, legs and backpacks are clean where you could expect moldlines. All in all, I wouldn't sweat it. If you can't see them with the naked eye, you're ok. No matter how hard you try, the occasional moldline bit will show up, especially with a good camera and lighting.

What's hypocritical is that pretty much every single person that says "moldlines!" or "drill gunbarrels!" on Dakka has pictures in their gallery with either undrilled barrels or moldlines.

I like em, nice job. The colour balance between red and white(bone) is good and the painting is solid. Highlighting is consistent and you've even pulled off freehand that I wouldn't even personally dare attempt. Well done.

On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

I love the burn effect on the plasma weapons! Btw how did you get the left lightning claw like that? I thought it was bent across the chest.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, the mold lines are going to get cleaned up some more.

And you are correct, the lightning claw was bent across the chest. What I did was took my hobby knife and shaved the arm where the arm meets the body so that it was more angled. I ended up losing some of the joint ribbing, but it is under the pad anyway. The only issue was getting the pad to sit just right with the giant power cable now riding underneath it.

As for the plasma burn, that was also easy. What you do is paint the tip leadbelcher, then you take seraphim sepia ink, and do three light washes of that, moving forwards for each wash, and making sure that it is on a slight angle. Then I took either Delvan Mud, or the new Delvan Mud ink and added a darker core to the scorching.
