How many people still play this game?

I think the rules are some of the best GW have put out but it's popularity is so low

It's fun but the Lord of the Ring's player base was already low, and this game requires two or more large collections to play, it's good but sadly not many people like the Lord of the Rings game.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

I used to play it before my gaming circle went and died, I liked what I saw after the few games we acctualy got done

I never got into it. Myself and the guys I play with have enough to do some games of it, but a skirmish or a game of Battle Companies is faster (there are 4 of us so it always takes a while to play) and is always enjoyable.

Besides, LoTR and Battle Companies let you have more control over every model, IIRC.

That's the problem I suppose but it's a real shame.

Same! Lucky though my friend is willing to play with me using my collection

I really enjoy SBG as well, it's probably my favorite gaming system I play, I just want to expand into this other awesome looking, but underplayed, game.

Awesome ruleset. I still rarely play with my son. No one plays it, that I know of.

I wouldn't be surprised if it enjoys a revival when the new Hobbit Movie comes out. Where I am only a few of us play. However, a few is all you need, right? I am a huge fan of the movies and books. Most players of this game are. For us it is a joy to own and expand a collection of representative miniatures. The game is a bonus.

One solution - build more than one army (easy to fall in love with more than one) and then invite a friend over to play over a cup of tea. Like taking out a game of Chess. This is my goal for the Mines of Moria boxed set. A fully-painted beautiful set of minis for recreating some of the best scenes for the Fellowship.

Then follow it up with one of the movies.

You really can't go wrong.

I agree, too, that the rules are thoughtful and well-done. A pleasure to play.
