Depends on what its going on. Each have their uses and place though out a space wolf army.

It was probably close before, but with the changes to power weapons MotW is now better than Power Sword/Axe.
Power Fists, however, still seem better than MotW for attacking vehicles and probably things like Terminators with 2+ saves.... although I haven't Mathhammered it.
Although... unless you're *really* stuck for points, why not just take both?

Well, against Vehicles you probably should just use your Grenades.

I remain a big fan of Mark of the Wulfen in my Grey Hunter squads, even without the powerfist Wolf Guard. Powerfists are way too pricey on a Grey Hunter for how few swings they get.
Mark of the Wulfen also gives you more volume of attacks, which comes in handy when you're trying to push wounds deep enough into a squad to prevent subsequent pile-ins from reaching contact.

Mark of the wulfen is amazing for the sole fact that you can usually get 1 AP2 wound on a squad during an assault at your initiative (rather than I1 with powerfists). Coupled with wolf standard for rerolls, you have a higher chance for rending.

Power weapon. Because Ap3 insta-gimping is better than a gimmicky assault rule that only 1 model will probably have.
And besides, who the hell would like to charge their PA wolves against a 2+ save unit?

Except that the power weapon is only 2 attacks at AP3, while the MotW is D6+1 Rending attacks at initiative 4. Combined with the wolf standard, you get to re-roll any dice rolls of 1 - giving you more chances to roll that 6 to hit and get rending (AP2).
Consider also that the pwr wep and the MotW are both 15 points, I think the MotW is better.

Exactly. I almost always take a Mark of the Wulfen and it almost always performs well. A power weapon is usually hit or miss and a secondary choice for me if I have the points to spare.

I would pair a mark of the wulfen with a power axe.
Combined they're only 5 points more than a power fist and far more likely to kill something.

You can't use Wargear with MotW. The axe is useless.

Depends really, D6 rending attacks is just too random.
-Think of it this way, its more reassuring to assault something with a power weapon than with Motw. It's not always about points efficiency, sometimes reliability is better.
-The power weapon has a more reliable boost for me winning my assaults against units of the same tier every round - and that's probably all you need.
- TL;DR: power weapon is for fights you dont wanna draw out longer and MOTW is for attrition assaults.
-The better argument is why not bring both? If you want a unit that is good at either shooting and assaulting, getting both isnt really expensive for that extra reassurance.
