With the release of 6th Edition, my local Gamesworkshop is accommodating a massive campaign for all those who had purchased the new rulebook. This campaign will have an emphasis on character-to-character combat using custom created "warlords". Because my chosen army for the campaign, my venerable Black Templars, who, for the time being "count-as" Blood Angels, don’t really have any standout character killers, I’ve alternatively opted to create my own warlord. The creation; Venerable Marshal Pagan of the Lost Crusade, dubbed affectionately after the main antagonist of "Pagan Chronicles", a book that had original sparked my interest in the Black Templars and 40k some decades ago, further encompassed in the Mk. I Dreadnought.

For all intensive purposes, game wise, he shares the same profile as a Blood Angels Furioso Dreadnought armed with “Blood Fists”, albeit an extra hull point, ability to assault after deploying from a drop pod (or rather, from my case, “Termite” driller) and a special “malfunction” roll in which each turn a D6 is rolled to determine whether the Mark. I malfunctions or not.

Furthermore, the Mk. I was made from a Dust Warfare SSU KV47, although heavily "demilitarized", in a sense, and fashioned with many grimdark features (purity seals, crusader seals, weapon chains, etc.) . In addition, because of my love for the model, it was a treat to paint, despite it being painted to tabletop quality.

Noted, although you'd be surprised how many other people have commented on how similar it looks to a Kan. Hmm, I'm guessing that I didn't add enough purity or crusader seals to the figure.

That's alright, it just means I can proxy it as something else, and more importantly, save some more money in my wallet from the hands of the "eternal enemy" (formally known as GW).

Thought I’d post a more extensive pictures of the dreadnought’s count-as storm bolter; which also better illustrates the custom “weapon-chains” synonymous with most Black Templars, that I had tried to produce. It also completes the complete 360-degree view of the dread, for your viewing pleasure.

Furthermore, the dreadnought also has interchangeable weapons arms, which had come with the SSU-KV47 kit. This means that depending on the codex being used, I can opt to field any dreadnought I feel needs to be used.

From left to right, we have the completed count-as storm bolter, melta-gun and stock chain-fists/ blood talons.
