I only slept for about 30 minutes the night before, I didn't take nearly as many good pictures as I did in 2011, but I figured some were worth posting. I still had a lot of fun. I did both of the rubber game board painting sessions, though I was heart broken when I didn't win one in the raffle. The big games and apoc tank battles we're a lot of fun. The panels were entertaining and informative. It was neat to hear Phil Kelly talk about his reflections on codex work that he has done, both good and bad. The man was a class act, and I hope he works on the new Templar codex. The Fantasy Flight guys were showing off their new 40k board game "Relic" which looks amazing. I can't believe I didn't get any shots of it, I'll do so at Gen Con though. I was able to meet Tim Flanders and thank him for getting Sword Brethren and the Emperor's Champion into Death Watch. The staff managing the games, stores, and the facility in general did a great job.

A really cool looking 3D Space Hulk mission vs Chaos.

Another cool Space Hulk setup. I think I was really interested in SH because that new card game looks really fun.

Shots from one of the "big games" IG/Ultras vs DE.

Some LOTRs action. (Pic probably just taken due to the cute girl)

Battle Fleet Gothic, I missed Epic this year sadly.

I love this dude's Ultramarines

"Death From Above" which I think was a homebrew game with the new flyers.

The radar on this Bastion was wired to rotate via a battery, it was an awesome conversion. Best use I've ever seen for a dozer blade.

Random "Army on Parade" shots

Nurgle Infestation, my pics do it terrible justice.

Fantastic looking setup, sadly I didn't know the chapter.

Probably my favorite. An awesome looking Crimson Firsts fortress. Hopefully post Rynn invasion.

I loved this terrain piece.

This is how to dig in.

Great looking "Imperial Strong point", I hope mine turns out like this when I buy one.

More Ultras.

Another great "Imperial Strong point" but with Imperial Fists.

Templars !

A lovely base conversion.

A really cool looking Imperial cathedral.

My favorite group of Gold Demon squads.

Is it just me, or does it seem like that Crimson Fist fortress has no soul?

I think I can identify 90% of the plastic kits used to make it without bothering to look at the catalog. When I compare to some of the other big fortresses (the Siege of Terra one for example) it just seems empty.

Yea. You can see the creativity of some of the terrain, but that fortress just lacks the visual effects that draws you to it in a positive manner.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Columbus, Oh

The rocky ford (fjord?) right below the Fortress, that has the alternate paint Space Wolves on it.. was done by a good local friend of mine.. very glad it made it to Chicago in one piece.

Anyone have pictures of the Golden Daemon winners?

Order of St Ursula (Sisters of Battle): W-2, L-1, T-1
Get of Freki (Space Wolves): W-3, L-1, T-1

I didn't stay until the very end, just until they announced the game board winners. Your friend did a really great job on that piece of terrain and his Wolves.

In da Mekshop

I'm somewhat guilty of this myself, owning a marine army as I do, but mother of GOD, does anyone play anything other than marine armies?

I would actually love to see a Games Day or a tournament of some sort that doesn't allow marine armies to be used.

Eh, rant off, I guess. The armies looked nice enough and there is a lot of work there.
