Hi all

this is a space marine I painted up recently in a Doom Spider colour scheme (a chapter of my own invention) This was an entry in to a youtube contest hosted by girl painting. It was a lot of fun to do even though I didn't get a placing

This mini is being entered in to a second Facebook contest and if you like this mini and want to help me out please like it (or any of the other awesome entries) over on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=415786895125734&set=a.415738565130567.83731.270825842955174&type=3&theater

The large leaves were made using the brass etch leaves from the warhammer basing kit.

The dirt effecs were done using Secret Weapon's "Dark earth" pigments: http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=37_38&products_id=364

Much of the other jungle effects (namely the moss and the grass) were done using stuff from the Secret Weapon wetlands basing kit: http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=263

The mushroom was made with a small rounded piece of plasticard and a piece of paperclip. It was them primed white, given a wash of Secret Weapon's Dark Sepia wash and finally P3 Sanguine bas was used to paint on small dots.

Wow that is one cool display base (or whatever you would call it). The plants are fantastic and add a lot to the mini. I like the symbol and the weathering. The only thing that bothers me is the legs are just one color (may be the picture) but everything else is so detailed and then the legs are just so monotone. Even with that critique I think it is still a great display piece you have there!

Edit - Also what happened to his backpack?

Heart of Sotha, Awaiting Sortie.

I really like the base and the green colours on the Space marine. But the black has no highlights from what I can see.

Will you be adding any highlights? If you add some subtle highlights to the black it will really come to life.

I think you have a green thumb! Great work all around, my only cc would be to reposition the legs. Some cutting and GS could get a much more natural climbing pose
