I am confused as to what books I need in order to get a list of all the 40K-approved options available to Space Marine.
So far, it looks like I have the options from:
- Imperial Armour Volume 2 Second Edition (for those Lucius Drop Pod, ...)
- Imperial Armour Volume 9 + Volume 10 (for the Badad War chapter master/captain options with special rules)
Am I missing something else?

All of them?
IA: 11 has several Space Wolf options.
IA: 8 has I think only one marine character - a Raven Guard Captain.
IA: 5-7 has several vehicles and characters for marines. Most are Red Scorpion.
The others are getting a bit old though for rules.

" 40k-approved"? Is there such a thing?
From what I know, anything outside a Codex requires consent from the other player, regardless of whether it's a Forgeworld unit or something made from a fan. Most people are probably cool with FW stuff, though, given their popularity.
From time to time, you also have new options in various issues of White Dwarf, but I think this happens less and less often these days. The GW website itself also offers a few interesting things to registered users, maybe give that one a look as well.

The current white dwarf just came out with updated rules for some deamon units. This will be happening more and more as GW tries to blackmail people into buying the magizine.

Is it really worth starting this argument again for the millionth time?
The op wasn't asking if they're 'legal'. He was just asking what book contains the Space Marine units designed for regular 40k (ie non-Apocalypse) games.

Thank you Loki. It's ok. I posted this knowing full well that people will chime in with their opinion regarding FW rules.
@Veldrain: for Red Scorpion, doesn't the Badab War books (IA9 and IA10) have the updated rules for them?

The deal with the Red Scorpions was you could use their chapter master in any of his prior versions, you simply could not run two differant versions of him at the same time. I do not recall Badab changing this but I could be wrong.
In IA: 4 The Red Scorpions also had an upgrade character for a tactical seargent. Artificer Armor, Iron Halo, and made his squad relentless. He has not been mentioned in any other book. Fun times with that guy.

The eariler books are designed for earlier codices. The Badab War Marine chapter lists are designed around the 5th edition codex, so you're better off with those books if you want to run Red Scorpions.
Something to remember is Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition will have regular Marine units not in the Badab books. It's a complilation book to bring as much of the range up to 5th edition as possible (and is quite compatible with 6th edition). So buying that and the Badab books will give you the Badab variant army lists and all of the current Forgeworld vehicles not in the Badab books.
